11/23/16 - DT Brandon Thompson was cleared to resume practicing with the team. Thompson remains on the physically unable to perform list, due to a knee injury suffered in the 2015 regular season finale. He now may practice without counting against the 53-player roster limit for a period of up to 21 days. Thompson could be activated to the roster at any time during the 21-day period, per club decision. He is a fifth-year NFL player, with 41 career Bengals games (including postseason) and eight starts.
11/07/16 - DT Brandon Thompson is progressing well in his rehab from a torn ACL suffered in the final regular-season game in 2015. The Bengals have until Nov. 22 to determine if Thompson will return to practice, remain on physically unable to perform or be released.

03/25/16 - DT Brandon Thompson, an unrestricted free agent, was re-signed by the Bengals to a one-year contract Friday (March 25). Thompson, 26, is a fifth-year player who has contributed to Bengals playoff teams in each of his previous four seasons. The 6-2, 305-pound Thompson was a third-round draft choice in 2012 out of Clemson.
Thompson has played in 39 games, recording 79 career regular-season tackles and three sacks. He played in nine games last season but suffered a knee injury (ACL tear) in the regular-season finale and missed the team's playoff game. Thompson had eight tackles and a half-sack in 2015. The Bengals hope Thompson can be medically cleared to resume play near midseason this year.
