01/23/13 - 2013 Senior Bowl, Tuesday: Vince Williams was second-best Tuesday among the linebackers, though he didn't show off his skills until the 11-on-11 drills as described above. He didn't stand out much in the other practice sessions, save for some flashes in edge-rush work and chasing down offensive players. He played on the inside Tuesday, just as he did at Florida State, and he'll likely find some work there as a third-day pick. - Dave Richard, CBSSports.com
01/02/13 - Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch entered Tuesday night's Orange Bowl as an emerging star, an All-American who finished seventh in Heisman Trophy voting and accounted for more yards of total offense in the regular season than any other player in the nation. He left looking like just another overmatched victim of Florida State's top-ranked defense in a 31-10 loss. And after Lynch's pregame promise to have the Seminoles "on their knees" in the fourth quarter, at least one Seminoles defender was determined to drive home the difference.
"He's terrible," linebacker Vince Williams told reporters after the game, pointing specifically to Lynch's much-publicized confidence for lighting FSU's fire: "It motivated us a lot," Williams said. "That was straight-up bulletin board material. First of all because of how much success our defense had. We've been really, really good and nobody's ever said anything like that to us. So we were like, 'this man must have lost his mind." "What did he do that was good?" Williams continued to rail, his voice rising in pace, pitch and volume. "He didn't do nothing that was good, we were killing him." - Matt Hinton, CBSSports.com

04/07/12 - Florida State linebacker Vince Williams was looking to compete for the starting role at middle linebacker on the Seminoles defense this spring, but the competition is over for now. Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher announced on Saturday that Williams had suffered a broken leg and will miss four to six weeks. Williams broke his tibia, which Fisher referred to as a "slight crack," in practice on Thursday. He had been sharing reps with fellow linebacker Telvin Smith this spring, much like the duo did at linebacker last season. Williams finished the 2011 season fifth on the team in tackles with 54 tackles. He also had 2 sacks and an interception. - Tom Fornelli, CBS Sports
