03/19/09 - Northwestern State’s 2008 seniors will be on display for about 20 NFL teams on Thursday as the school will host its annual Pro Day at Turpin Stadium. On field testing begins at 9 and runs through 11:30. The big turnout is based on the phenomenal workout that receiver Dudley Guice turned in for three scouts earlier this month, when he ran 4.39 and 4.40 times and had a 39-inch vertical. His times are reportedly second among all draft eligible receivers. Other senior prospects involved Thursday will be tight end Kedrin Seastrunk, offensive lineman Tim Henderson, defensive back Justin Perry, kicker Robert Weeks and tailback Byron Lawrence. The players will go through a series of testing with the scouts that includes the 40-yard dash, vertical leap, broad jump, shuttle run and the 3-cone drill. 03/07/09 - NW Louisiana State Pro day: The official Northwestern Louisiana State Pro Day is on March 19, but one scout showed up on Tuesday, so the school held an impromptu workout. Wide receiver Dudley Guice put up some impressive numbers on the outdoor FieldTurf track. He checked in at 6-foot-2 1/2, 209 pounds and ran a 4.40- and a 4.43-second 40-yard dash. That time would have ranked him among the fastest participants at last month’s combine. He also had a 39-inch vertical jump, 10-foot, 5-inch broad jump, a 4.01-second short shuttle, a 6.61-second three-cone drill and 12 bench-press reps.
