Draft Scout Deji Karim News
08/31/13 - RB Deji Karim was released on Saturday as the Houston Texans got down to the league-mandated 53-player roster to start the season.
01/02/13 - RB Deji Karim was working as a parking valet at a Renaissance Hotel in Oklahoma City prior to returning to the Colts in mid-December. Karim had been with Indianapolis during training camp and the preseason before he was released. His 101-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in last week's win over Houston was the fourth longest in Colts' Indy history and the longest since the team made the move from Baltimore.
12/31/12 - RB Deji Karim went from working as a valet at an Oklahoma City hotel earlier in the month to returning a kickoff 101 yards for a touchdown for the Colts. Karim was originally signed as a free agent by Indianapolis after he was released by the Jaguars. He was waived before the start of the season. The Colts brought him back after injuries had decimated the team's depth at the position. Karim has been impressive as a kickoff returner the last two weeks of the regular season.
12/31/12 - RB Deji Karim returned a kickoff 101 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter to give the Colts a 21-16 lead. The return is tied for the fourth-longest in franchise history, the longest in Indianapolis Colts history (1984 to present) and the longest since Cotton Speyrer's 101-yard return in 1973. The kickoff return for a touchdown is the team's first dating back to December 19, 2010 (Tyjuan Hagler vs. Jacksonville).
12/18/12 - RB Deji Karim impressed the Colts' coaching staff with his kickoff returns in the Houston game. Karim is also expected to see more work in the offensive backfield due to injuries at the position to Donald Brown and Delone Carter. "I was real proud of Deji stepping in, coming in on Wednesday and (he) did a good job on the kickoff returns," interim coach/offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said.
