Draft Scout Snapshot: A closer look at the Cowboys' picks: Round 4/135 - Matt Johnson, FS, 6-2, 220, Eastern Washington...With 17 career interceptions, Johnson has nice ball skills. He can come down hill and tackle as well as play center field. Look for him to come in and make his initial impact on special teams. - The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout Matt Johnson News
11/07/12 - SS Matt Johnson remains sidelined with a season-long hamstring injury.
10/24/12 - S Matt Johnson is out a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. He has yet to play this season because of the nagging injury that he reinjured last Friday.
10/22/12 - SS Matt Johnson was expected to make his debut Sunday at Carolina but injured his left hamstring in Friday's practice. The rookie fourth-round pick has yet to get on the field, missing the first five games because of a right hamstring injury sustained in OTAs and aggravated during a preseason game against the St. Louis Rams. "I can't tell you how well he practiced for two weeks," coach Jason Garrett said. "He really practiced well. Everything we've seen from him has been so positive, so we were really disappointed when that happened because (injuries have) been a recurring theme for him. He's one of those guys that's so conscientious and tried to do the right things the right way with the right treatment and all that. It's particularly disappointing. We've just got to see the next few days, couple weeks and see if he responds well at all because you're measuring how many weeks are left in the season, how many weeks he'll be on the shelf and try to make your best guess. You don't want to waste that roster spot all year long, so at some point there's going to be a decision we have to make. We don't think we have to make that decision right now with 10 games to go."';']\
10/03/12 - S Matt Johnson did light work with the team on Wednesday for the first time all season because of a hamstring injury. The Cowboys are hopeful he will be a full go after the bye on Monday.
09/24/12 - S Matt Johnson has added a back injury to his woes. He has not played because of a hamstring injury. The back injury came up three weeks ago.
