 Draft Scout Chris Davenport News
06/01/14 - NT Chris Davenport was waived by the Redskins May 19.
12/17/13 - 2013 ALL-CONFERENCE USA HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): DL - Chris Davenport, Tulane, Sr.,...In his lone season in a Green Wave uniform after transferring to Tulane from LSU, Davenport has started all 11 games he played in in 2013 - eight at nose tackle, three at defensive end - and ranks tied for seventh on the team in pass break-ups (two), tied for eighth in sacks (1.5) and tied for 10th in tackles for loss (4.5) to go with 18 tackles (eight solo).

A Mansfield native, he posted a career-high four tackles (two solo), including a half tackle for loss, at Rice on Nov. 30, and logged three tackles on three occasions, including at Syracuse (all solo) on Sept. 21, vs. North Texas (one solo with a half tackle for loss and a pass breakup) on Oct. 5, and vs. East Carolina (all assist with a half tackle for loss) on Oct. 12. - Tulane football

08/29/13 - PLAYERS TO WATCH IN 2013: DT Chris Davenport enrolled at Tulane for his fifth year after graduating from LSU, where he was a seldom-used offensive tackle. The Green Wave will move him back to the defensive line, where he was a five-star recruit when he signed with LSU out of high school. - The Sports Xchange
01/15/13 - Former LSU offensive tackle Chris Davenport said Tuesday that he plans to continue his college career by enrolling at Tulane to play his final season. Davenport, who has his degree from LSU in interdisciplinary studies, said he is awaiting paperwork necessary to enroll at Tulane and he hopes to join the Green Wave in “the next couple of days.” He said he will enroll in graduate school at Tulane to study human resources.

Davenport (6-foot-4, 320 pounds) came to LSU as a highly rated defensive tackle out of Mansfield High School in 2009, but he had trouble finding a role on one of the team’s more talent-laden areas. He redshirted as a freshman and played in two games as a backup as a redshirt freshman, assisting on one tackle.

Davenport moved to offensive tackle during spring drills before the 2011 season and played in 10 games as a backup to left tackle Chris Faulk that fall. He missed last spring after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery and never had an impact. - Les East, The Baton Rouge Advocate
