Draft Scout Tavon Austin News
12/11/13 - WR Tavon Austin, who is considered day-to-day because of an ankle injury suffered Sunday against Arizona, did not practice Wednesday.
12/09/13 - WR Tavon Austin suffered an ankle injury at the end of a 56-yard run in the third quarter against Arizona. Austin did come back on the field as the punt returner, but didn't play after that for the rest of the game. Coach Jeff Fisher said Monday he would be "day-to-day" this week.
10/17/13 - --WR Tavon Austin participated in only three offensive plays against Houston, and while acknowledging "it's hard to be patient," he said, "I know my time will come. The big thing was getting the win." Austin leads the team with 24 receptions, but his average is just 6.6 yards per catch.
09/10/13 - WR Tavon Austin had a somewhat quiet NFL debut. He was targeted seven times and caught six, but he gained just 41 yards. He also had one run that the Cardinals defensed well, dropping him for a 1-yard loss. He had one punt return for one yard.
09/05/13 - WR Tavon Austin will be making his regular-season debut, and QB Sam Bradford said he's been impressed with Austin's work ethic. Asked what's impressed him, Bradford said, "Just his maturity as far as understanding what we're asking him to do on certain plays and certain routes. I think, obviously, when he first got here, he was still just trying to learn the concepts and learn the routes – basically general guidelines as to where he's supposed to be and what he was supposed to run. But, I think he's starting to understand the finer points of the offense and of the routes that he's running. He came up to me at practice a couple times today and talked to me about small adjustments verse different coverages that they showed us. And that shows a lot to me because we haven't had those conversations before. I think it's really great to see something like that happen."
