05/12/17 - DT Josh Boyd was signed by the Indianapolis Colts on Friday. Boyd, 27, played in 26 career games (four starts) in three seasons (2013-15) with the Green Bay Packers and totaled 43 tackles and one pass defensed. He appeared in three postseason contests (one start) and tallied two tackles. He was waived by the Packers last year and was out of the league while recovering from an ankle injury. The 6-foot-3, 310-pound Boyd was originally selected by the Packers in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Mississippi State.
06/30/16 - DE Josh Boyd (failed physical) was placed on waivers by the Packers May 9.
09/22/15 - DL Josh Boyd had to be taken off the field on a cart after suffering what reportedly was a broken right ankle in the second quarter of the 27-17 win over Seattle. The third-year backup was placed on injured reserve Monday (Sept. 21). To fill his spot on the 53-man roster, the Packers signed first-year linebacker Joe Thomas off the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad. The 6-foot-1, 227-pound Thomas spent the second half of last season on Green Bay's practice squad and then was cut by the Packers at the end of the preseason earlier this month.
09/21/15 - DT Josh Boyd broke his right ankle and additional tests showed possible ligament damage in the Packers' win against the Seahawks.
His agent, Rodney Edwards told ESPN.com that he was awaiting word from doctors to determine the severity of the ligament damage.
Boyd was rolled up on by a pile of players at the end of a Seahawks running play in the second quarter of the 27-17 win Sunday night, and was carted off the field. He appeared to be in serious pain as he left the field.
Edwards said Boyd may need surgery, which could require an 8-10 week recovery. Edwards said he did not know if the Packers planned to put him on injured reserve.
09/21/15 - DT Josh Boyd was placed on injured reserve. The transaction was announced Monday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.
