 Draft Scout Shaquelle Evans News
12/03/13 - 2013 ALL-PAC-12 HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): WR Shaq Evans, Sr.,...Has been selected All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention for the 2013 college football season as voted on by the Pac-12 Head football coaches. - UCLA football
10/03/13 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: WR Shaq Evans averages 24.5 yards a punt return, which ranks fourth nationally. He also leads UCLA with 13 catches for 210 yards and three touchdowns. Evans is a big-play threat who averages 16.2 yards per reception. - The Sports Xchange
08/13/13 - OTHER UCLA PROSPECTS WORTH WATCHING: WR Shaquelle Evans (6-1, 210, 4.54)...Evans began his collegiate career at Notre Dame but transferred to UCLA in 2010. After flashing talent with the Irish and in 2011 with the Bruins, Evans emerged as Hundley's go-to target last year, leading the team with 60 receptions for 877 yards and three scores. Evans is a big-bodied receiver with deceptive build-up speed and maneuverability. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
07/19/13 - 2013 BILETNIKOFF AWARD WATCH LIST: Shaquelle Evans, UCLA, SR...Evans, a redshirt senior from Inglewood, Calif., became a consistent producer for the Bruin offense in 2012, starting all 14 games. He led the team with 60 receptions, a mark which ranks as the eighth-most in school single-season history. Evans also led the team in receiving yards, with 877, the 11th-highest total in school single-season history. Evans caught a career-long 71-yard pass against Stanford in the Rose Bowl and also made a career-high eight catches against USC for 114 yards in UCLA's 38-28 victory over the Trojans. He also shined in the team's appearance in the Holiday Bowl, making seven receptions, including a 24-yard scoring pass from quarterback Brett Hundley. For his efforts, Evans was named an honorable mention All-Pac-12 player by league coaches. - UCLA football
11/30/12 - SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: UCLA was held to 334 yards by Stanford, tying a season low for the Bruins, who managed only nine first downs through the first three quarters. How will a young offensive line find a way to succeed against a veteran, big, physical Stanford front this week? The Cardinal held the Bruins to 73 yards on the ground, a number made worse by the seven sacks UCLA allowed. This has developed into a balanced offense for UCLA, which can distribute the ball to star tailback Johnathan Franklin (125.5 yards per game), tight end Joseph Fauria (11 touchdown receptions) and receiver Shaquelle Evans, whose speed is especially dangerous against a suspect Stanford secondary. - The Sports Xchange
