05/31/16 - QB AJ McCarron returned to Cincinnati this week for organized team activities following the birth of his son -- Raymond Anthony McCarron III. McCarron said wife, Katherine, and son were doing well back in Alabama following a relatively easy delivery. "She laughed him out," McCarron said, smiling. "I made her laugh and she laughed twice hard and he was out. Doctors said that was the easiest delivery he'd been a part of." Meanwhile, the Bengals QB who made three starts in place of injured Andy Dalton last season and passed for 854 yards and six TDs, shook off some rust on Tuesday. "He's not as sharp as where he needs to be," said offensive coordinator Ken Zampese. "But he knows that. He'll get there soon enough. We'll pound on him."
05/24/16 - QB AJ McCarron did not participate in OTAs on Tuesday due to the impending birth of his son. McCarron's wife, Katherine Webb, a former Miss Alabama, is expecting any day. McCarron passed for 854 yards last season and six touchdowns in seven games including three starts in place of injured Andy Dalton.
12/30/15 - QB AJ McCarron had an MRI on his left wrist on Tuesday that revealed only a strain. McCarron hurt his left wrist diving for the shotgun snap he fumbled on the final play of Cincinnati's 20-17 overtime loss on Monday night in Denver. McCarron showed up at his postgame news conference with the wrist in a protective wrap.
12/30/15 - QB A.J. McCarron said he expects to play on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens despite straining his left wrist trying to recover a fumbled snap on the game's final play. "I'm just doing what the training staff's telling me," said McCarron. "Taking it day by day. Yeah (ready to go). I'm practicing. I don't have any concerns. I've been pretty fortunate." McCarron practiced on Wednesday without issue. In three games subbing for injured starter Andy Dalton, McCarron has passed for 694 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions. The Bengals' backup quarterback for now is Keith Wenning. Journeyman Mike Kafka was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday.
12/29/15 - QB AJ McCarron hurt his left wrist diving for the shotgun snap he fumbled on the final play of Cincinnati's 20-17 overtime loss to Denver.
McCarron, starting for a second time in place of injured Andy Dalton (thumb), showed up at his postgame news conference with the wrist in a protective wrap. He said it would be evaluated further on Tuesday and he did not know the severity of the injury. Keith Wenning is the Bengals' third-team quarterback.
