Draft Scout Kevin Norwood News
07/27/14 - WR Kevin Norwood, a rookie from Alabama, sat out practice Saturday. It's unclear what his injury was.
05/13/14 - 2014 NFL DRAFT BEST VALUE PICK: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: Round 4/123 -- Kevin Norwood, WR, 6-2, 198, Alabama...Norwood didn't put up huge numbers in Alabama's balanced offense, but the Seahawks were intrigued by the way he always seemed to come up big in big games and think he can contribute quickly. Playing for the Crimson Tide meant that he caught just 81 passes in his career, and never more than 38 in a season. Norwood has the skill set and measurables of some of the players taken ahead of him. - The Sports Xchange
05/12/14 - A closer look at the Seahawks' picks: Round 4/123 -- Kevin Norwood, WR, 6-2, 198, Alabama...Norwood didn't put up huge numbers in Alabama's balanced offense. But Seahawks were intrigued by the way he seemed to always come up big in big games and think he can contribute quickly. He has the skill set and measurables of some of the players taken ahead of him. But playing for a powerful and balanced Alabama team meant that he caught just 81 passes in his career, and never more than 38. Seattle, though, wasn't dissuaded by those numbers and think he will be more productive in the NFL than he was at Alabama. - The Sports Xchange
05/08/14 - 2014 DRAFT SCOUT FINAL TOP 100: 93/16. Kevin Norwood, WR, Alabama, 6-2, 198, 4.44, 3...Big body, hands and good speed are always a good start for a wide receiver. Being Alabama's most experienced receiver (11 games, 6 starts)may not be a raving endorsement, but Norwood shows excellent awareness, body control, focus and, most important, does a great job catching with his hands. Does not have explosive burst, but seems to have a good feel for finding soft spot in zones. Frankly: Norwood will be a 25-year old rookie who probably needs to get buffed to handle the physicality he will face in the NFL. He already approaches the game with a serious, pro-like attitude. - Frank Cooney, NFLDraftScout.com
04/29/14 - Five players who should be on the New York Giants' draft radar: WR Kevin Norwood, Alabama: The loss of Hakeem Nicks won't necessarily force the Giants to invest in a receiver early on but with 2012 second round pick Rueben Randle struggling to live up to his potential to this point, the Giants would be wise to take advantage of this year's extraordinary depth at the position. The 6-foot-2, 198 pound Norwood did not play a featured role in Alabama's run-heavy attack but when he was called upon, he proved very reliable due to his detailed route-running, underrated athleticism and soft, dependable hands. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
