 Draft Scout Kevin Norwood News
03/22/14 - 2014 Pro Days: Alabama's Mosley runs well, Kouandjio holds off...Senior WR Kevin Norwood had a productive senior season and kept that momentum going at the NFL Combine, running a 4.48 in the 40-yard dash, and again on Wednesday. He rested on his numbers from last month, but looked excellent in positional drills, plucking the ball away from his frame and looking smooth in his cuts. Norwood caught passes from senior QB A.J. McCarron who threw for scouts and looked “good, but not great” according to one scout – which might sum up how many around the league feel about his prospects at the next level. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
08/15/13 - OTHER ALABAMA PROSPECTS WORTH WATCHING: WR Kevin Norwood (6-1, 195, 4.58)...Norwood fought through a turf toe injury last season to finish second on the team in catches (29), receiving yards (461) and touchdown catches (four). He missed the spring after recovering from surgery to repair the issue but could be in position enjoy a significant spike in his production as a senior complementing sophomore star Amari Cooper. Norwood is at his best in the slot, where his quickness and toughness helped him rack up 24 first downs for the Tide last year. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
07/19/13 - 2013 BILETNIKOFF AWARD WATCH LIST: Kevin Norwood, Alabama, SR...Norwood finished second on the team with 29 receptions for 461 yards and four touchdowns in 2012 ... averaged 15.9 yards per catch and 35.5 yards per game ... 24 of his 29 receptions converted first downs (82.8 percent) ... had 11 “explosive” receptions (15-plus yards). - Alabama football
01/07/13 - Scouting the Alabama passing game: QB AJ McCarron has morphed from game manager into a guy you win with, hitting nearly 67 percent of his passes for 2,669 yards with an absurd 26-to-3 TD-interception ratio. McCarron averages around 14 yards per completion, an indicator of his ability to hit on deep passes to receivers who routinely get one-on-one chances as defenses consistently play eight men in the tackle box. Freshman WR Amari Cooper became the main man in the passing game with 53 receptions for 895 yards and nine touchdowns, but Kevin Norwood and Christion Jones proved capable of making big plays. TE Michael Williams must be watched around the goal line. - The Sports Xchange
11/05/12 - WEEK 10 SEC OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE: WR KEVIN NORWOOD (Alabama) -- Caught five passes for 62 yards, including three catches on Crimson Tide’s game-winning drive at LSU. - SEC football
