09/25/12 - 09/24/12 NFL DRAFT SCOUT FALLER: CB SHELDON PRICE, UCLA...A week ago, Sheldon Price could have been considered a “Riser” after collecting three interceptions against Houston. But after his performance against Oregon State, his draft stock is on the decline. Often lined up against Beavers receiver Markus Wheaton (listed above as a Riser), Price struggled in several areas. Giving Wheaton a large cushion, Price opened his hips too early and allowed the wideout to gain a step as Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion and Wheaton connected on a 71-yard vertical deep pass for the score. Later in the game with the Beavers driving into the red zone, Price and Wheaton were again matched up inside the 10-yard line. Mannion called for a fade route, but Price grabbed and held onto Wheaton, never even attempting to find the ball in coverage, making it an easy pass interference call for the officials. This gaffe by Price set up a touchdown for the Beavers as they went on to win, 27-20. Listed at 6-1 and 180-pounds, Price has the size and length to match up with physical wideouts at the next level, but he plays with tight hips, average speed and inconsistent technique, all traits that NFL scouts seek in the position. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
09/16/12 - CB Sheldon Price intercepted three passes from Houston's David Piland, tying a school record that had been shared by five players. One of those is his teammate, sophomore safety Tevin McDonald, who had three picks vs. Cal last season. UCLA picked off Piland five times in 60 pass attempts.
09/16/12 - Redshirt freshman Brett Hundley passed for 320 yards and two touchdowns, and No. 22 UCLA's hard-hitting defense held high-scoring Houston in check Saturday night as the Bruins beat the Cougars 37-6. Johnathan Franklin, the nation's leading rusher, gained 110 yards on 25 carries, Sheldon Price tied a school record with three of UCLA's five interceptions, and Ka'imi Fairbairn kicked three field goals to help the unbeaten Bruins earn their third straight victory under first-year coach Jim Mora. Hundley completed 27 of 42 passes with two interceptions. Franklin, a senior who averaged 215.5 yards in his team's first two games, moved into second place on UCLA's career rushing list with 3,210 yards. Gaston Green gained 3,731 yards in the 1980s. Houston's David Piland completed 28 of 60 passes for 249 yards with the five interceptions. Piland's 86-yard run with 4:54 remaining kept the Cougars from being shut out for the first time in nearly 12 years. The teams combined for 11 turnovers -- six by Houston. - AP Sports
