 Draft Scout Theo Riddick News
04/28/13 - A closer look at the Lions' picks: Round 6/199 - Theo Riddick, RB, 5-9, 200, Notre Dame...Again, looking after needs, Riddick, the Lions hope, is a budding Reggie Bush. He gained more than 1,000 yards rushing, receiving and kick returning in his career at Notre Dame. - The Sports Xchange
03/29/13 - 2013 Notre Dame Pro Day: Theo Riddick, running back (5-10 1/4 205) - Ran 4.69 and 4.63, did 14 strength reps, 4.40 in the short shuttle and 6.99 in the three cone. Riddick, who also played some slot receiver at South Bend, shows quickness as a running back but doesn’t look as good at wide receiver. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
01/07/13 - Scouting the Notre Dame running game: Theo Riddick and Cierre Wood have been the workhorses with 880 and 740 yards, respectively. But George Atkinson III has also contributed some big plays, including five rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Everett Golson has also been adept on the ground, rushing 89 times for 305 yards and five TDs. The Irish are 27th nationally with a 202.59 yards per game average. - The Sports Xchange
12/16/12 - 2012 FBS ALL-INDEPENDENT FIRST TEAM: RB Theo Riddick (Sr.), Notre Dame, has been selected First Team All-Independent for the 2012 college football season by members of a nationwide media panel, which includes equal representation from each of the independent institutions’ coverage markets. - Notre Dame football
11/27/12 - Week 13 Rewind: Scouts weren't surprised by Riddick's versatility or effort in this contest. As Dane Brugler pointed out in his preview of this game, Riddick is tough and finishes his runs. It was surprising, however, to see the Irish lean so heavily on the senior running back as he and junior Cierre Wood had shared the workload much of season. Wood came into the contest averaging 7.1 yards per game, himself, but was limited to just 20 yards on eight carries in this contest.

With a lanky build, Riddick (5-11, 200 pounds) does not possess the ideal frame for consistently handling the ball 20+ times in the NFL. His willingness to turn it up inside for the tough yards, however, as well as his surprising elusiveness and reliable hands out of the backfield could make him an intriguing rotational back in the NFL. Best of all -- at least from the perspective of NFL decision-makers -- he's shown his ability to rise to the occasion and might be had a relatively cheap price considering his current position on NFLDraftScout.com's rankings of the top running backs in the 2013 draft class. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
