 Draft Scout Theo Riddick News
08/11/14 - RB Theo Riddick was a full participant Monday after suffering an abdominal injury against the Browns when safety Donte Whitner hit him hard on a reception.
07/29/14 - RB Theo Riddick has received a lot of hype this offseason, but Riddick said he hasn't been paying attention. "I haven't really proven anything, so those are just words," he said. Riddick said "only time will tell" what his role will be in the Lions' offense this season, but under new coordinator Joe Lombardi the offense will use at least three backs. Riddick also played slot receiver in college, which should help him earn playing time. "I'm versatile, and I think that obviously will put pressure on defenses," Riddick said.
06/03/14 - RB Theo Riddick played more than expected as a sixth-round pick last season, becoming a key special teams contributor and the No. 3 back. In new offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi's offense, the Lions could use more than just Reggie Bush and Joique Bell out of the backfield. Riddick has the versatility to be a threat as a runner and receiver, which could help him earn playing time over 2011 second-round pick Mikel Leshoure. Fellow running back Reggie Bush said Riddick could be a surprising factor in the Lions' offense next season. "He's definitely a sleeper," Bush said. "When you watch him in practice and you see him in action, he's definitely a guy that can make plays from anywhere on the football field."
12/08/13 - RBs Theo Riddick and Joique Bell could share the workload against the Eagles with Reggie Bush reportedly aggravating his calf injury pre-game and returning to the locker room.
10/18/13 - RB Theo Riddick (concussion) has also not been cleared and is doubtful for Sunday.
