Draft Scout News
10/19/16 - TE Dion Sims is in concussion protocol and will miss this week's game against Buffalo. Miami only has two healthy TEs on the roster -- MarQueis Gray and Dominique Jones. Thomas Duarte, the rookie seventh-round pick from UCLA, is on the practice squad but doesn't seem ready to be promoted.
10/17/16 - TE Dion Sims might have sustained a concussion and didn't return to the Pittsburgh game. Sims missed time last season after suffering a concussion in the opener at Washington. Sims' possible absence could mean two Miami TEs have concussion issues. Jordan Cameron (concussion) is also sidelined.
09/27/16 - TE Dion Sims (ankle) was limited in Tuesday's practice. Sims, whose expertise is blocking, is expected to take on a bigger role as a receiver this week against Cincinnati because TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) won't play.
09/26/16 - TE Dion Sims (ankle), valued for his blocking skills, could get more receiving duties this week with TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) sidelined.
06/16/16 - TE Dion Sims said he's working on his receiving skills. Sims, whose 2015 season was shortened by a concussion in the opener, is an accomplished in-line blocker but his hands are suspect. Sims had 18 receptions for 127 yards and one touchdown in 2015. Sims could provide a dual tight-end threat alongside starter Jordan Cameron.
