 Draft Scout Stepfan Taylor News
04/28/13 - A closer look at the Cardinals' picks: Round 5/140 - Stepfan Taylor, RB, 5-9, 214, Stanford...Taylor is Stanford's all-time leading rusher and could contribute immediately. Rashard Mendenhall is the starter and the backup, Ryan Williams, has suffered serious injuries in both of his NFL seasons. - The Sports Xchange
04/24/13 - 2013 NFL DRAFT RANG'S GANG: RB: Stepfan Taylor, Stanford, 5-9, 214, 4.70...A year ago, it was quarterback Russell Wilson, who possessed everything scouts were looking for except height. This year, Taylor has shown all of the traits necessary to be a bell-cow back in the NFL except straight-line speed. While the stopwatch says Stanford's all-time leading rusher can't play at the next level, one can't measure the "little things" Taylor does so well - such as his vision, balance, forward lean, soft hands as a receiver and toughness, including in pass protection. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
03/28/13 - 2013 Stanford Pro Day: Stepfan Taylor, RB (5-9 1/8, 213) - Taylor ran the 40 in 4.63 and 4.69 seconds. He had a 31-inch vertical jump and did 19 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. His 40 time was better than what he ran at the combine (officially 4.76 seconds), since he ran on a sprained ankle while in Indianapolis. Taylor is an explosive runner and also catches the ball extremely well. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
03/24/13 - 2013 Stanford Pro Day: As Stanford's all-time leading rusher, Stepfan Taylor has impressive tape to counter the disappointing workout he'd had in Indianapolis, where he was clocked at 4.76 seconds in the 40-yard dash at 5-foot-9, 216 pounds. Taylor was faster Thursday (4.64-4.68), helping his cause, but wasn't explosive. Taylor isn't the type to dominate in drills and could slip into the third day of the draft because of this fact, but he's nonetheless a favorite of many scouts. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
02/20/13 - 2013 NFL Combine, Most to gain: Stanford's Stepfan Taylor finds himself in a similar position. Like Eddie Lacy, Taylor may prove faster on the field than he is during workouts. Regardless of what they run, each has proven his talent against elite competition. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
