02/11/15 - RB David Wilson was waived by the Giants Wednesday with the designation failed physical. Wilson, the team's first-round draft pick in 2012, suffered a serious neck injury in 2013 and missed last season after suffering symptoms in training camp. The 23 year old is not expected to try to play football again.
08/18/14 - RB David Wilson, who is currently on injured reserve after being advised by doctors to never play football again, will turn his attention to training for a possible spot on the 2016 Olympics team in the triple jump, according to a report by USA Today.

A report Thursday by NJ.com cited a source familiar with Wilson's neck injury as saying the former first-round pick "needs a miracle" to resume playing.
Wilson suffered a burner -- a nerve injury in the neck area -- during Tuesday's practice and will be shut down until at least Aug. 4, when he'll consult Dr. Frank Cammissa, who performed his spinal fusion surgery on January 16.

Wilson awaits an appointment on Aug. 4 with Dr. Frank Cammissa at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. Dr. Cammissa is the surgeon who performed Wilson's spinal fusion.
With about 10 minutes remaining in practice Tuesday, Wilson was spotted walking off the field with head trainer Ronnie Barnes after suffering what coach Tom Coughlin described as a "burner."
Wilson was just cleared for contact on July 21, the first day of training camp, after recovering from neck surgery six months ago.
Wilson, whose neck issues first came to light in the Giants' Week 5 loss in Philadelphia last year, was placed on season-ending injured reserve. He underwent spinal fusion surgery in January to address a herniated disc.
