 Draft Scout Rob Henry News
05/07/14 - 2014 NFL Draft: 126 FBS programs, 126 possible UDFAs: PURDUE: SS Rob Henry (6-2, 197, 4.56)...A college quarterback who is projected to safety, Henry is built well with NFL speed and strength, but will likely go undrafted as a very raw defensive project. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
09/04/13 - This was not how any Purdue fan was hoping the Darrell Hazell era would start out, but nor was the season-opening 42-7 loss to Cincinnati completely unpredictable. The road game against a tough Bearcats squad in front of a record-setting crowd was tailor-made for an inexperienced team to struggle, and indeed that's what happened. Week two brings an opponent more tailor-made for success in Indiana State. The Sycamores dropped their opener 73-35 against Indiana, and also lost their starting running back to a separated shoulder. The FCS opponent is a good thing for Hazell, because it might be the team's last chance at a win for awhile.

The Boilermakers follow Saturday's game with a home date against Notre Dame, then a trip to Wisconsin and the final nonconference tilt of the season is against Northern Illinois. Without a big improvement, Hazell has a realistic possibility of entering the first bye week at 1-4. So Saturday's not just about the win. Even with the rash of FCS upsets over BCS schools, the Boilermakers should be able to handle the Sycamores.

Instead, this week amounts to a final chance to show improvement before the schedule heats up again. Hazell will be looking for indications of improvement at quarterback, for example, where Rob Henry struggled mightily a week ago. Henry won the battle for the starting job from Austin Appleby and Danny Etling during the offseason, but he'll need to play much better to avoid having to endure an in-season battle as well. - The Sports Xchange

09/04/13 - Scouting the Purdue passing game: Rob Henry has to have a better game throwing the football, but that wasn't the only problem in the opener. The Boilermakers offensive line didn't keep the Cincinnati defense out of the backfield, so Henry found himself under constant pressure. If the same thing happens this week against Indiana State, it's a sign that the problems here are worse than expected. - The Sports Xchange
09/04/13 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Rob Henry had a tough game against Cincinnati, completing 18 of his 35 pass attempts for 161 yards, throwing two interceptions and fumbling once. One early casualty of that effort: his twitter presence, which he chose to downplay after apologizing for the 42-7 defeat. He'll get a chance to redeem himself this week when the Boilers take on Indiana State. Henry started on Saturday, his first start for the Boilermakers in 1,008 days. Among all current players in Division I, that's the longest gap between starts at the same school. - The Sports Xchange
09/01/13 - Purdue QB Rob Henry apologizes, quits Twitter after loss...Things didn't start off that badly for Purdue in their season opener against Cincinnati Saturday; the Boilermakers scored a touchdown late in the second quarter to tie the game at 7, and at that point were virtually even in the box score. It might have been best if Boiler fans just quit watching then, though, as the Bearcats scored the game's final 35 points in a 42-7 laugher.

Not surprisingly, Purdue senior quarterback Rob Henry wasn't happy with that performance, and particularly with his own. He took to Twitter to apologize to Boiler supporters afterwards ... and swear off of Twitter for the time being. Is Henry being too hard on himself? Well ... "unacceptable" is a really strong word. But no, 18-of-35 for 161 yards (4.6 yards per-attempt), two interceptions without a touchdown, and a fumble isn't good. (Henry did score the Boilers' only touchdown on a 7-yard run.) The good news is that there's still time for Henry to settle down in coach Darell Hazell's system and improve before the Big Ten slate rolls around and he won't even be distracted by Twitter! - Jerry Hinnen, CBSSports.com
