10/05/13 - Bryan Maley hit a 45-yard game-winning field goal with four seconds remaining to lift Wagner (2-4, 1-1) over unbeaten Sacred Heart 23-20 in a Northeast Conference game on Saturday. Maley hit two 45-yarders among three field goals on the day as the Seahawks survived a 17-point, fourth-quarter rally that saw Sacred Heart (5-1, 0-1) tie the game at 20-20 with two minutes to go.
After falling behind early, Wagner's defense stopped Sacred Heart on its next eight drives, forcing five punts and three fumbles. Dominique Williams rushed for a game-high 108 yards and a touchdown for Wagner, and Mike Mentor returned a fumble 23 yards for a score after Sacred Heart's RJ Noel was sacked. Noel passed for 212 yards and a pair of TDs, both in the fourth quarter as the Pioneers came back. Chris Rogers added a 31-yard field goal for the short-lived tie at 2:02. - AP Sports
09/03/13 - SEPT 2 NEC FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dom Williams, Wagner,...This marks the fifth time in Williams' career that he has copped NEC Offensive Player of the Week honors, having done two times in each of the last two seasons. He also picked up one NEC Rookie of the Week honor back in 2009. For James, who was a running back for the Seahawks before being converted to cornerback last spring, this is his first NEC weekly honor.
Williams, the first three-time captain in Wagner football history, carried the load for the Seahawk offense against Georgetown, helping the Green & White overcome a 21-7 halftime deficit against. Williams rushed 32 times for 162 yards and the game-winning touchdown, a six-yard run around right end, punctuated by a soaring dive into the right side of the end zone, with 2:48 remaining in regulation. - Wagner football
