04/30/13 - Falcons Add 24 College Free Agents...WR Darius Johnson, 5-10, 175 pounds, was a first team All-Conference USA performer at Southern Methodist University. He was named the MVP in back-to-back bowl games for the Mustangs, including the 2011 BVAA Compass Bowl after posting seven catches for 120 yards with one touchdown in a win over Pittsburgh. - Jay Adams, AtlantaFalcons.com
03/29/13 - 2013 SMU Pro Day: Darius Johnson, WR (5-9 1/8, 177) - Johnson - who was at the combine - ran the 40 in 4.65 seconds against the wind and 4.56 seconds with the wind. He had a 33-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-5 broad jump. He did the three-cone drill in 7.29 seconds. Kyle Padron, the quarterback from Eastern Washington who used to play at SMU, threw passes at the pro day, which was held March 27 outdoors on FieldTurf in front of representatives from 20 NFL teams. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
12/24/12 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: SMU’s wide receiving corps is blessed with a trio of standouts in Darius Johnson, Jeremy Johnson and Der’rikk Thompson. Darius has been named MVP in back-to-back bowl games; Jeremy caught the game-winning TD in overtime at TCU in 2011 and Der’rikk is a deep threat with six of his seven career TDs coming from 25-yards or more out.

Darius Johnson was chosen a Second-Team All-C-USA performer and Biletnikoff Award Watch List member in 2012 after wrapping up 2011 with an MVP performance in SMU’s BBVA Compass Bowl win. He has 13 100-yard games in his career, third-best at SMU, and ranks in the top five on the Hilltop in career TDs, catches and yards. With 229 career catches, he’s tied for fifth among active players and his 2,814 yards are 14th-best. Along with current Pittsburgh Steeler Emmanuel Sanders, Darius is one of just two Mustangs with three 60-catch seasons. - SMU football

12/12/12 - 2012 ALL-CONFERENCE USA SECOND TEAM (COACHES): WR-Darius Johnson, Sr., SMU, has been selected Second Team All-Conference USA (Coaches selection) for the 2012 college football season. Johnson, a senior wide receiver, ranks fifth in catches per game (6.0) and in yardage (84.9) in C-USA games, and has posted three 100-yard efforts. He has 61 grabs for 747 yards and four scores in 2012. Johnson has 13 100-yard games in his career, third-best at SMU, and ranks in the top five on the Hilltop in career TDs, catches and yards.
