01/28/15 - College Gridiron Showcase Tuesday practice: Purdue TE Gabe Holmes saw his NFL Draft stock decline over the years, mostly due to injury. But he did a nice job on Tuesday, using his size to be a mismatch against safeties in receiving drills. Holmes (6-5, 256) is muscle-bound and stiff, but he presented a big target for quarterbacks to throw to and did a nice job looking the ball into his large 10-inch hands. There isn't much flash to this player, but he was one of the more reliable players during Tuesday's practice. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
08/08/14 - Purdue's NFL Draft-Eligible prospects to watch in 2014: 1. TE Gabe Holmes, RS Senior...He has an athletic body type with the speed and quickness to match, playing like a small forward on the football field. Holmes is still unpolished in several areas, including his routes and blocking technique, but needs the most work with his reliability catching and securing the ball before he turns upfield. He has only nine career starts and hasn't received much help from the quarterback position at Purdue, but he needs to improve upon his 37 career catches for 305 yards and three scores. He has never had more than four catches or 50 receiving yards in a single game, but if he can stay healthy and consistent, Holmes will continue to ascend up draft boards. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
