08/25/14 - TE Justin Jones, an undrafted rookie out of East Carolina, was waived by the Patriots Aug. 25. It was the second time the big-bodied youngster (6-foot-8) had been cut this summer. He was brought back the first time only because of a serious lack of healthy bodies on the depth chart at the position.
08/19/14 - TE Justin Jones was signed by the Patriots Monday (Aug. 18). He had been waived by the Patriots Aug. 10.
08/11/14 - TE Justin Jones was waived by the Patriots Monday (Aug. 11). Jones, 22, originally signed with the Patriots as a rookie free agent out of East Carolina on May 12, 2014. He was a three-year starter and finished his career with 52 receptions for 598 yards and 12 touchdowns.
08/21/13 - East Carolina receivers Justin Jones and Jabril Soloman have been declared ineligible. Coach Ruffin McNeill made the announcement Wednesday. Jones' career ends with 52 receptions for 598 yards and 12 touchdowns in 32 games. He made five starts as a junior in 2012. Soloman led the team with an average of 24.1 yards per catch as a freshman last season and played in 12 games.
Team spokesman Tom McClellan would not specify why the two are ineligible, citing the school's student privacy regulations, but says the players are not enrolled in school.'' McNeill says the school's support system has helped many Pirate athletes.
