Post-Draft Outlook:
A closer look at the Patriots' picks: 2/40 -- Ron Brace, DL, 6-3, 330, Boston College...Brace adds remarkable size at 330 pounds and is a potential backup or replacement for Vince Wilfork. Re-signing the starting nose tackle remains a top priority, but Brace is a great option to have in case the unexpected happens. He should be versatile enough to adjust to a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme, which is important in New England's defense, and he played a critical role in shutting down the run at Boston College, making him a potential for increased playing time depending on his development this summer. - by The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout Ron Brace News
09/01/13 - NT Ron Brace had his contract terminated by the Redskins Saturday.
02/14/13 - NT Ron Brace was signed by the Redskins Thursday (Feb. 14). Brace (6-3, 330) was originally selected by the New England Patriots in the second round (No. 40 overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 39 career regular season games with seven starts. For his career, STATS, LLC credits him with 39 tackles (24 solo) and one forced fumble. He was released by the Patriots on Dec. 29, 2012. Brace played collegiately at Boston College from 2004-08, starting 40 of the 49 career games in which he appeared. He recorded 85 tackles (50 solo), including 23 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks during his Eagle career and earned All-ACC second team honors following his senior season in 2008.
12/31/12 - DL Ron Brace was waived Dec. 29. The former 2009 second-round pick out of Boston College played in 39 games with seven starts over his four seasons in New England.
12/24/12 - DL Ron Brace was a healthy scratch against the Jags, a fate the former second-round pick has dealt with for the last three weeks.
12/19/12 - DL Ron Brace is no longer on the injury report, so there's a strong chance he'll be part of the mix at defensive line this weekend and could get a significant boost in playing time if the team decides to rest some starters.
