12/08/12 - 2012 ALL-SEC SECOND TEAM (COACHES): LB - Cameron Lawrence, Mississippi State, has been selected Second Team All-Southeastern Conference (Coaches selection) for the 2012 college football season. The Coldwater, Miss., native tied for third in the SEC with 111 tackles, becoming the first MSU player since 1994-95 with 100-plus tackles in back-to-back season. 10/29/12 - The Mississippi State Bulldogs have no time to sulk after falling to the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. The Bulldogs (7-1, 3-1 SEC), ranked 17th in this week's Associated Press poll and No. 15 in the BCS, host surging Texas A&M (6-2, 3-2) Saturday. MSU was battered and bruised in a 38-7 loss at Alabama on Saturday. Learning to respond after an emotional and gut-wrenching loss will prove to be one of the toughest tasks in coach Dan Mullen's coaching career. "We have a lot of young guys playing on the field and they have to learn from this game," Mullen said. "If they don't learn from this game and this situation, then we're not going to take the next step." That next step is competing for an SEC championship, which now appears to be out of reach despite it being mathematically possible. After facing the nation's top defense, the Bulldogs host the third-best scoring offense (45.5 points per game) in the country. "Now, the emotional part," said Mullen. "That's why I say this is going to be the biggest game for us of the year because of how our guys respond to it." Alabama snapped the Bulldogs' nine-game winning streak, dropping MSU in the polls and in the SEC standings. MSU can climb back with a win against Texas A&M before traveling to Baton Rouge to face the LSU Tigers on Nov. 10. "Up until this point, we've handled success pretty well with everybody patting us on the back," MSU linebacker Cam Lawrence said. "It's all about how we're going to respond to a little adversity. We have to come back Monday ready to work." - The Sports Xchange
