Draft Scout Rashaad Reynolds News
04/21/14 - 2014 NFL Draft Defensive Backs: Rashaad Reynolds, Oregon State, 5-10, 189, 4.51, 3-4...This former star quarterback at San Fernando High School (Pacoima, Calif.) had to beg to play cornerback and they are thankful at Oregon State, where he played 50 games, starting his final 38 at right corner. Tough, three-time city prep wrestling champ with excellent coverage techniques and great character as leader on the field and in community. Last year he overcame a knee injury to collect 61 tackles, six interceptions and two fumbles returned for a score in one game. Frankly: Forget his height, or lack thereof, just put him on the field and watch him give a clinic in how this position is supposed to be played. - Frank Cooney, The Sports Xchange
12/24/13 - Rashaad Reynolds returned two fumbles for touchdowns, helping Oregon State beat Boise State 38-23 in the Hawaii Bowl on Tuesday night. The Beavers set several records in handing Boise State its worst loss in two months. Biletnikoff Award-winner Brandin Cooks had 60 yards receiving and a touchdown while setting a Pac-12 record for most receiving yards in season. Sean Mannion set another for passing yards, finishing 24 of 33 for 259 yards and a touchdown.
Oregon State kept Boise State out of the end zone until the third quarter, well after the Beavers opened a big lead. Matt Miller led Boise State with 11 catches for 206 yards and a touchdown. - AP Sports
12/03/13 - 2013 ALL-PAC-12 SECOND TEAM (COACHES): DB Rashaad Reynolds, Sr., Oregon State...Has been selected All-Pac 12 Second Team for the 2013 college football season as voted on by the Pac-12 Head football coaches. - Oregon State football
10/14/13 - WEEK 7 PAC-12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Oregon State cornerback Rashaad Reynolds, a senior from Pacoima, Calif., intercepted two passes, forced two fumbles and recorded six tackles as the Beaversí scored 35 unanswered points in the second half on their way to a 52-24 win over Washington State in Pullman. He led an Oregon State secondary that had four interceptions in the game and leads the Pac-12 with 12 total, which is tied for fourth in the nation.
Reynolds has three interceptions on the year, tied for 19th in the country (0.3 pg). Also nominated for defensive player of the week honors were linebackers Derrick Malone of Oregon and Trevor Reilly of Utah; defensive ends Davon Coleman of Arizona State and J.R. Tavai of USC; and safety Randall Goforth of UCLA. - Pac-12 football
09/13/13 - Scouting the Oregon State pass defense: Two outmanned opponents have completed 66 percent of their passing attempts against the Beavers, though OSU did mount a pass rush against Hawaii, which didn't have a mobile quarterback to worry about. There still seem to be receivers running open too often in the OSU secondary, and Pac-12 opponents, such as Utah, will take even better advantage of that factor. - The Sports Xchange
