 Draft Scout Frantz Joseph News
07/14/09 - LB Frantz Joseph, an undrafted rookie out of South Florida, was waived by Oakland.
03/14/09 - TOP LINEBACKERS: Frantz Joseph, Florida Atlantic, 6-1, 242: An intense, physical three-year starter who made 154 tackles (84 solo) in 2008 when he earned first-team all-Sun Belt honors for the second consecutive year. He had 131 tackles in 2007. His 13 tackles in the 2008 Motor City Bowl against Central Michigan demanded attention from scouts. Joseph redshirted at Boston College in 2004, then transferred home to help his mother with finances. At his Feb. 26 pro day, Joseph had a best time of 4.83 seconds in the 40. - Frank Cooney, The Sports Xchange, NFLDraftScout.com
02/26/09 - Florida Atlantic Pro Day: 16 teams represented by 19 scouts were present to see Frantz Joseph...Bears, Dolphins, Colts, Jaguars, Rams, Browns, Titans, Packers, Panthers, Raiders, Chiefs, Giants, Eagles, 49ers, Falcons, Saints (Numbers to be posted later). Word is Charles Pierre did great in weights. He had a decent 40 time but tweaked his hamstring and didn’t run the second 40. And, yes, all eyes were on the man in black, Frantz Joseph. Joseph had a smile on his face the entire time. Said he didn’t care what his time was. “Just put a running back in front of me and let me go,” he said. DE Robert St. Claire looked fast in the 40, but couldn’t do other drills requiring side-to-side mobility due to his knee injury. The O-line was well-represented by Nick Paris. - Ted Hutton, Sun-Sentinel.com
02/26/09 - Florida Atlantic Pro Day: ILB Frantz Joseph measured 6010...242 pounds...ran the 40 in 4.83 and 4.85 with a 10-yard time of 1.62 and 20-yard time at 2.75...27 1/2 vert jump...4.37 shuttle...7.34 3-cone...19 bench reps...9 1/8 inch hands and 33 inch arms...16 teams were present at FAU's Pro day...Bears, Dolphins, Colts, Jaguars, Rams, Browns, Titans, Packers, Panthers, Raiders, Chiefs, Giants, Eagles, 49ers, Falcons, Saints. - Ted Hutton, Sun-Sentinel.com/FAU Sports
02/21/09 - It appears Frantz Joseph was not invited to the combine going on this weekend. While disappointing, I think there is still a good shot he becomes FAU’s first draft pick. He will get to audition Thursday, when FAU hosts Pro Day, which a slew of scouts will attend (a slew means more than 20 could be there, according to Sean Todd, football operations guru who is organizing the event.). Joseph and CB Corey Small have attracted the most interest, but Small broke his leg in the Texas vs. Nation game, though he is expected to have the cast off and be at The Oxley to talk with scouts. DE Robert St. Claire became a target after last year’s pro day when he had sub 4.5 40-yard dash time that had scouts huddling around the stopwatch. But his knee problems struck this year though. St. Claire will participate in the sprints, but not on drills requiring lateral movement. DL Jervonte Jackson has been working out with Frantz in Jersey and will also be trying to impress the scouts. ESPN is supposed to be on hand because they are doing a personal interest story on Frantz. The veterans work out in the morning. Events at the FAU track are open to the public. Weight room and other stuff inside The Oxley will not be. - Ted Hutton, The Florida Sun Sentinel
