04/08/13 - 2013 North Carolina Pro Day: Erik “Mookie” Highsmith, WR (6-0 7/8, 185) - Highsmith ran the 40 in 4.64 seconds against the wind and 4.56 seconds with the wind. He had a 34 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-4 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.43 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.83 seconds. He also had 14 lifts on the bench press. 01/13/13 - University of North Carolina wide receiver Erik Highsmith has accepted an invitation to play in the 88th East-West Shrine Game®. The Game will be held January 19, 2013 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., kicking off at 4 p.m. EST and televised live on NFL Network. Highsmith finished his career at Carolina 166 receptions, which ranks third all-time. He had at least 24 receptions in all four seasons. A native of Vanceboro, N.C., Highsmith had at least one catch in 51 career games. Highsmith joins an elite list of football greats, such as John Elway, Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and 62 NFL Hall of Famers, who have played in the East-West Shrine Game along with 52 players currently on active NFL rosters. - North Carolina football
