09/06/13 - BYU was without wide receiver Cody Hoffman (hamstring) in the Cougars loss at Virginia. Hoffman who caught 100 passes last year for 1,248 yards and 11 touchdowns, was hurt in practice late last week, but wasn't declared out until pregame warmups. "Cody Hoffman would have been a welcomed piece of the puzzle," BYU offensive coordinator Robert Anae said. "There's that, 'Man, who are we going to lean on when things get really tight' [thing]." Hoffman's status for Saturday's game against Texas will be determined later this week. - The Sports Xchange
08/28/13 - PLAYERS TO WATCH IN 2013: WR Cody Hoffman also turned down the NFL draft. Presuming good health, and typical production, he'll become the most accomplished receiver in school history, passing NFL player Austin Collie's marks in various categories. Not bad for a guy whose only scholarship offers out of the tiny town of Crescent City, Calif., were to Sacramento State and BYU. - The Sports Xchange
