Draft Scout Micah Hyde News
12/23/13 - CB/KR Micah Hyde had his three longest kickoff returns of the season in the 38-31 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Hyde topped runbacks of 33 and 39 yards earlier in the game with a 70-yard return after the Steelers went ahead with what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes to play.
11/22/13 - CB Micah Hyde (groin) took part in practice Friday and was listed as probable to face the Vikings.
11/21/13 - --CB Micah Hyde (groin) didn't practice Thursday and was added to the injury report. Head coach Mike McCarthy said after Thursday's practice that Hyde's injury "may have been a little bit of a carryover" from the loss at the New York Giants on Sunday and it bothered the rookie in practice Wednesday. Hyde, who also returns kicks, said Thursday he planned to be back on the field for practice Friday, which would bode well for his availability for the game Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
10/28/13 - CB Micah Hyde's first kick return for a touchdown since his high school days in Fostoria, Ohio, nearly was torpedoed by fellow Green Bay rookie Sam Barrington on Sunday. Hyde had a 93-yard touchdown runback on a punt in the final two minutes of the first half to extend Green Bay's lead to 24-10.
"I caught the ball, I got upfield, and the only thing I saw was Sam Barrington almost tackle me," Hyde said. Barrington, who nearly blocked the punt by Jeff Locke on the far end of the Minnesota's side of the field, was running back to the Green Bay side as Hyde broke through the initial wave of the Vikings' cover men. Hyde averted a collision with Barrington as well as nearby teammate Jake Stoneburner, who also was looking to make a downfield block, just past the Packers' 30-yard line.
10/14/13 - --CB Micah Hyde had an active dual role in the 19-17 victory at Baltimore on Sunday. Hyde was inserted to replace a fatigued Davon House in the subpackages on defense during the first half and finished with a sack, a forced fumble and six tackles. The rookie also handled the full-time duties on punt returns after receiver Randall Cobb was lost to a knee injury late in the first half. Hyde averaged 13.6 yards in five returns with a long of 23. "He's definitely the front-runner" to return punts going forward, head coach Mike McCarthy said.
