 Draft Scout Travis Johnson News
09/01/13 - LB Travis Johnson was waived by the 49ers Saturday.
04/08/13 - 2013 San Jose State Pro Day: Travis Johnson, DE (6-1 7/8, 240) - Johnson ran the 40 in 4.86 and 4.89 seconds. He had a 32-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot broad jump. He had a short shuttle time of 4.44 seconds and did the three-cone drill in 7.18 seconds. He performed 19 strength lifts. Johnson worked out as an outside linebacker, and had a good workout despite suffering from the flu. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
03/16/13 - 2012 San Jose State Pro Day: Pass rusher Travis Johnson, who was not invited to the combine, had a good, but not great, workout for scouts. At 6-1 and 241 pounds, his 40-yard dash was 4.82 and short shuttle in the 4.3 range. Johnson, who is the school's all-time sack leader (32), is a defensive end/linebacker hybrid who isn't the most impressive athlete, but he has the motor and demeanor for the NFL. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
12/27/12 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: The Spartans have won 10 games for the seventh time in school history. They have a chance to win 11 games for the first time since 1940, 10 years before San Jose State declared itself a major college football program in 1950.

San Jose State has been one of the best road teams in the nation this season, winning five of six away from home with the only loss a 20-17 setback up the road at Stanford in their season opener. The long trip east is not a concern for this under-the-radar team.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: DE Travis Johnson, a 6-foot-3, 244-pound senior, is the Western Athletic Conference's career leader and the nation's active career leader with 31 sacks. For the second year in a row, he was listed on the Hendricks Award Mid-Season Watch List. - The Sports Xchange

12/07/12 - 2012 ALL-WAC FIRST TEAM (COACHES): DL-Travis Johnson, San Jose State, 6-3, 244, Sr., has been selected First Team All-Western Athletic Conference (Coaches selection) for the 2012 college football season. Johnson leads the WAC in tackles for loss with 19 for 106 yards. He also leads the WAC and is seventh nationally in sacks with 12 for a loss of 66 yards. Johnson became the WAC's all-time leader in sacks with 31 and is fourth all-time in tackles for loss with 46.5. He has 60 tackles on the season and has forced two fumbles. - San Jose State football
