Draft Scout Jamaal Westerman News
09/14/09 - DE Jamaal Westerman, an undrafted rookie free agent, sacked Matt Schaub for a 13-yard loss in the fourth quarter. Westerman credited the push of his teammates toward the Houston offensive line for giving him the chance to get the takedown.
"We've got a 24-hour rule" for celebrating wins, he said with a smile, "but because it's my first (sack), I might celebrate for 25 hours."
09/02/09 - ILB Jamaal Westerman had his first sack of the preseason against the Giants. The undrafted rookie free agent has drawn praise from coach Rex Ryan since the spring, and Ryan has indicated that Westerman already has made the roster.

08/23/09 - ILB Jamaal Westerman again drew praise from coach Rex Ryan, who indicated he might be able to help as a pass rusher on opening day, especially because of the absence of Shaun Ellis and Calvin Pace, both of whom will miss the season opener because of NFL-imposed suspensions. Of course, the undrafted free agent rookie must make the roster first.
