05/01/13 - Chiefs Agree to Terms with 13 Rookie Free Agents...WR Rico Richardson (6-1, 185) played in 40 games (20 starts) at Jackson State, recording 130 catches for 2,491 yards (19.2 avg.) and 23 touchdowns. He earned first-team all-region honors at Natchez High School in Natchez, Mississippi. - KCChiefs.com
03/29/13 - 2013 Jackson State Pro Day: A total of 10 players from Jackson State worked out at the school’s pro day on March 8. The workouts were held outdoors on grass in front of six NFL teams. Rico Richardson, WR (5-11 ˝, 167 pounds) - Richardson proved impressive enough to earn an invite to the Super Regionals in Dallas. He ran a time of 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash and recorded a 35˝-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-1 broad jump. He ran a 4.12 short shuttle and 6.77 in the cone drill. 12/05/12 - 2012 SWAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Jackson State wide receiver Rico Richardson, a 2011 second team selection was the only receiver in the SWAC to gain over 1,000 yards receiving this season, The senior from Natchez, Miss. finished the regular season with 56 receptions for 1,081 yards which led the SWAC and is ranked 13th in the NCAA. He also led the conference in TD grabs with 10. He averaged 19.3 yards per catch and 98.3 per game also lead the SWAC. - Southwestern Athletic Conference football
10/22/12 - Clayton Moore accounted for both Jackson State touchdowns in the Tigers' 14-7 overtime win against Mississippi Valley State on Saturday. Moore finished with 131 yards on 14-of-29 passing and rushed 16 times for 72 yards. His 9-yard touchdown pass to Rico Richardson gave the Tigers a 7-0 lead before MSVU's Marcus Randle hit Richard Drake for a 71-yard touchdown pass to tie the game late in the fourth quarter. Moore completed two passes in overtime before scoring on a 1-yard run to put Jackson State up 14-7. MVSU (2-5, 2-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference) took over for its overtime possession but Jamal Carter tackled Brandon Stansel in the backfield, forcing the running back to fumble away the Hornets' comeback hopes. Jackson State (4-4, 4-2) outgained MVSU 328-204, with the Tigers holding possession for over 58 minutes. MVSU posted 23 rushing yards on 29 carries and hasn't beaten Jackson State since 1994. - AP Sports
