09/21/13 - Wisconsin TE Pederson leaves game...Wisconsin senior tight end Jacob Pederson left Saturday's game in the first half with a leg injury and will not return. He had no catches. Wisconsin led Purdue 24-10 at halftime. Coming into the game, Pederson had eight catches for 101 yards with a touchdown. - The Sports Xchange
08/14/13 - TOP WISCONSIN PROSPECTS FOR THE 2014 NFL DRAFT: 5. TE Jacob Pedersen (6-4, 238, 4.76)...Besides offensive linemen, the Badgers have been very active sending athletic, pass-catching tight ends to the NFL in recent memory and Pedersen is the next in line. After redshirting in 2009, he started 20 games over the last three years and enters his senior season with 65 career catches and 14 touchdowns. Pederson lacks elite size for the position and is leaner-than-ideal, in the similar mold as former Wisconsin tight ends like Lance Kendricks and Garrett Graham.

He has soft hands with excellent body control to easily make the correct adjustments on the move to reel-in poor throws, but he does have the bad habit of looking upfield before securing the catch and needs to consistently finish. Pedersen gives top notch blocking effort, but needs to better understand when to disengage to avoid holding calls. He lacks the power or length to be a consistent mauler as a run blocker, but he gives excellent effort in this area and projects to the NFL as a dependable joker-type tight end. Look for Pedersen to be a third day pick and the sixth tight end out of Wisconsin drafted since 2006. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

07/17/13 - 2013 MACKEY AWARD WATCH LIST: Jacob Pedersen, Wisconsin...This marks the sixth time in seven seasons that Wisconsin has placed a tight end on the Mackey Award watch list. Including Pedersen’s nod for the Badgers, seven Big Ten schools are represented on this year’s Mackey Award watch list. The term “most outstanding” is a familiar one for Pedersen, who collected first-team All-Big Ten laurels and was named Kwalick-Clark Big Ten Tight End of the Year last season. He tallied 27 receptions for 355 yards -- an average of 13.1 yards per catch -- and scored four touchdowns on the season.

Pedersen had similar yardage numbers but hauled in eight touchdown receptions in 2011, earning him recognition as Wisconsin’s third-ever Mackey Award semifinalist. He went on to earn second-team All-Big Ten honors. With 14 career touchdown receptions, Pedersen enters 2013 needing just one TD grab to match Pat Richter and Lee DeRamus for the ninth-most in UW history (15). - Wisconsin football
