05/13/14 - 2014 NFL DRAFT BEST VALUE PICK: DETROIT LIONS: Round 5/158 -- Caraun Reid, DT, 6-2, 302, Princeton...The Lions see the Ivy League defensive player of the year as a developmental player but one with great upside. They had success drafting a similar defensive tackle from a smaller program a couple of years ago -- Sammie Hill of Stillman College. Reid is going to need a year to gain weight and strength, but his football skill set is NFL-ready. - The Sports Xchange
05/12/14 - A closer look at the Lions' picks: Round 5/158 - Caraun Reid, DT, 6-2, 302, Princeton...The Ivy League defensive player of the year, the Lions see him as another developmental player but one with great upside. They had success drafting a similar defensive tackle from a smaller program a couple of years ago - Sammie Hill. He is going to need a year to gain weight and strength, but his football skill set is NFL ready. - The Sports Xchange
05/08/14 - 2014 DRAFT SCOUT FINAL TOP 100: 92/10. Caraun Reid, DT, Princeton, 6-2, 302, 4.89, 3...Reid has a square, well-built frame and showed constant improvement with pass rush technique, flashing an effective swim, rip and even a bull rush, albeit against lesser talent. Great worker, not just because of Princeton, but his father is a bishop, school principal and psychologist and mother is a doctor, minister and licensed educator. Frankly: The Princeton floodgates are opening to the NFL with Reid now a viable prospect after defensive end Mike Catapano became the school's first drafted player in 12 years when Kansas City took him in the seventh round of the last draft. - Frank Cooney, NFLDraftScout.com
05/06/14 - Five players who should be on Detroit's draft radar...DT Caraun Reid, Princeton: With Nick Fairley set to hit free agency, the Lions can stay one step ahead by drafting interior depth in this class, similar to what they did a year ago at defensive end. And in the third round, Reid is a player who will be attractive to odd and even defensive fronts with his ability to play inside and outside. He was a no-name 250-pound recruit out of the Bronx five years ago, but picked up football and developed each year at Princeton. Reid is a filled-out, nimble athlete with impressive feet and get-off quickness for an interior player, staying energetic and motivated on and off the field. He is a well-rounded individual and dedicates himself in the film room, taking pride in his craft and the desire to improve. Reid is likely a top-100 player and in the third round, might be the top defensive tackle option on the board for the Lions. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
01/25/14 - 2014 Senior Bowl, Helped Themselves: Caraun Reid, DT, Princeton - The well-built Ivy Leaguer proved with a competitive week of practice that he was every bit the talent as the more well-known prospects he was facing each snap. He capped off the week with sacks on back to back plays during the game, showing the lateral burst and closing speed to project nicely as a three-technique defensive tackle. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
