05/25/16 - WR Eric Rogers has been one of the standouts during OTAs as he attempts to earn a starting spot in his first NFL season. Rogers has dominated lesser competition in the Arena and Canadian Football Leagues, and he hand-picked the 49ers when sorting among several free-agent offers this winter. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder might already be the club's top receiver.
01/21/16 - WR Eric Rogers was signed by the 49ers to a future contract for 2016 Thursday (Jan. 21). Rogers will receive a signing bonus of $125,000 from the 49ers, according to multiple reports.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Rogers originally signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Cal Lutheran in 2013 but was released before the season and hooked on in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders.
Last season, Rogers led the CFL with 1,448 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while catching 87 passes. According to reports, Rogers had NFL tryouts with 16 different teams before signing with the 49ers.
At Division III Cal Lutheran, Rogers finished his career with 220 receptions for 3,461 yards and 45 touchdowns. In his final college season in 2012, Rogers had 91 catches for 1,298 yards and 18 touchdowns.
