Draft Scout Brent Urban News
09/27/17 - DE Brent Urban was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with a Lisfranc foot injury that will require season-ending surgery. Urban, 26, injured his foot on the second play of the second quarter in Sunday's 44-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. In his fourth season with the Ravens and first as a full-time starter, the 6-foot-7, 300-pound Urban was a fourth-round pick out of Virginia in 2014. He tore his ACL during his first training camp, knocking out his rookie season, and a torn biceps stripped him of 10 games the following year. Urban played a full season for the first time in 2016, with 10 tackles, two sacks and two passes defensed.
09/25/17 - DE Brent Urban injured his foot in the second quarter Sunday against Jacksonville.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed Monday that Urban is out for the long term with a Lisfranc foot injury and will need surgery. He could become the 16th player this season on injured reserve.
09/26/16 - DE Brent Urban blocked a 52-yard field goal attempt by Jacksonville kicker Jason Myers with 3:06 remaining to set up his team's decisive score.
09/26/16 - The Ravens have 10 blocked kicks (punts, field goals or PATs) since 2014, the most in the NFL.
Special teams then came up with another key play that helped lead to a victory over the Jaguars. Defensive end Brent Urban swatted a 52-yard field-goal attempt in the fourth quarter by Jacksonville kicker Jason Myers that would have increased the Ravens' deficit to four points.
"Every time we line up for a field goal, we expect to block it," Urban said. "It's the same mindset. We executed. Other guys like Brandon Williams and Lawrence Guy did a great job getting push as well. I was able to get through there. It was a great all-around play."
Baltimore then responded with a go-ahead 54-yard field goal by Justin Tucker.
12/20/15 - DE Brent Urban got his first NFL sack in the first quarter against Kansas City. Urban was added to the Ravens' 53-man roster off of the IR-designated-to-return list prior to the Nov. 30 game against Cleveland. In that game, Urban blocked a 51-yard field-goal attempt by Travis Coons. Safety Will Hill picked up the ball and 64 yards for a 33-27 victory as time expired.
