03/24/13 - 2013 UNLV Pro Day: UNLV held its pro day on Thursday in front of two NFL teamís scouts. John Lotulelei OLB (5-11 5/8, 230) - Lotulelei ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 and 4.66 seconds. He recorded a 10-foot-2 broad jump and 4.26 short-shuttle run. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
03/18/13 - About a dozen former UNLV football players took part in the program's annual NFL Pro Timing Day on Thursday inside the Lied Athletic Complex and out at Rebel Park. Scouts were on hand from the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders on a March day that saw temperatures flirting with the 90-degree mark.
Most eyes were on 2012 UNLV Defensive MVP, linebacker John Lotulelei, who took part primarily in an attempt to improve his 40-yard dash time recorded at last month's official NFL Combine. Based on his strong numbers in multiple events in Indianapolis, including the 3-cone drill, vertical jump and bench press, the native of Hawaii is expected be selected in April's NFL Draft.
Other players from last year's Rebel squad that went through testing and drills Thursday were offensive lineman Doug Zismann, running back Bradley Randle, punter/kicker Chase Lansford, quarterback Sean Reilly, defensive backs Dre Crawford and Kenny Brown and defensive lineman Trent Allmang-Wilder. - UNLV football

Lotulelei (Kihei, Hawaii) currently ranks third in the Mountain West and 39th in the nation with 9.2 tackles per game and his total of 120 was the 10th-highest in UNLV single-season history. A team captain, he turned in a career-high 19 total tackles vs. Nevada, Reno and grabbed his first interception vs. Washington State. - UNLV football
08/30/12 - SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: If UNLV is to make any improvement in its win total -- the Rebels have finished with just two victories in six of the last eight seasons -- it will have to start here. The front seven, led by senior LBs John Lotulelei and Princeton Jackson, appeared improved in fall camp. The big question mark is the secondary which returns just one starter in junior CB Sidney Hodge. - The Sports Xchange
07/18/12 - 2012 BUTKUS AWARD PRESEASON WATCH LIST: John Lotulelei, UNLV, has been selected to the Preseason Butkus Award Watch List for the 2012 college football season, presented to the top linebacker in college football by the Butkus Foundation. - The Butkus Foundation
