Post-Draft Outlook:
COULD SURPRISE: West Virginia quarterback Pat White has suddenly emerged as competition for Chad Henne as the heir apparent to Chad Pennington. White, who of course, was picked to direct the trendy "Wildcat" offense, taking over for RB Ronnie Brown, but GM Jeff Ireland made it clear that he is in the running at quarterback. However, his 6-foot, slight frame suggests otherwise, but still he is the Big East's all-time leading rusher with 4,480 yards (and multipurpose yards) at quarterback, not to mention a leader who has garnered MVP honors in his last three bowl-led victories. A closer look at the Dolphins' picks: Round 2/44 -- Pat White, QB/RB/WR, 6-0, 190, West Virginia...Despite comments to the contrary, the Dolphins cemented their commitment to enhancing the Wildcat formation with White taking over, or at least becoming a very strong second fiddle to RB Ronnie Brown's linchpin role. - by The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout Pat White News
01/14/10 - QB Pat White showed quickness but very little else in several cameo appearances in the 'Wild-Pat,' which was more of a straight college running option then gadgetry.
01/04/10 - QB Pat White, who sustained a concussion in the third quarter, was kept in a hospital overnight for observation but he was back at the team facility Monday.
01/03/10 - QB Pat White, the second-round pick out of West Virginia, left the field on a stretcher after taking a third-quarter hit to the helmet area from Steelers CB Ike Taylor. White suffered a concussion and was admitted to Broward General Hospital for overnight evaluation.
11/26/09 - QB Pat White didn't get on the field last week to run the 'Pat-Package,' mostly because of all the injuries to the offensive line. That should change Sunday against the Bills.
11/09/09 - QB Pat White had just two yards on four NFL carries before Sunday's game. Utilizing a series of college-style option plays to show the Patriots a different look than the Wildcat that always has a running back taking the direct snap, White gained 45 yards on six-carries, including a 33-yard jaunt that set up a 15-yard TD run by Ricky Williams (who took the pitch from White).
