Manny Lawson TSX Player News Log
09/02/16 - OLB Manny Lawson was among 21 players released as the Bills cut their roster in front of Saturday's deadline for reaching 53-man rosters. The veteran returned to the field in mid-August after missing two weeks with a pectoral issue, and is reportedly facing a one-game suspension stemming from a 2014 domestic violence incident.
08/29/16 - OLB Manny Lawson has wanted to talk about the NFL's ongoing investigation into an alleged violation of the league's personal conduct policy, but on a couple of occasions a member of the Bills' public relations staff has rushed over and told him not to speak to reporters. However, Lawson did finally talk on Sunday, and he while acknowledging there was an incident in 2014 in which Lawson was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct/domestic violence, he said there was no physical violence. That case was dismissed after he completed a diversionary program. "(It was) disorderly conduct, domestic because it happened at home," Lawson said. "No physical violence. I'm being investigated and we'll see what the NFL has to say about it."
08/18/16 - LB Manny Lawson is the subjecting of a league investigation regarding a possible violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy. The team released a statement two days after the Buffalo News reported that Lawson is being investigated by the league. Lawson on Wednesday told reporters that he was "shocked" to learn of the probe. The newspaper, citing sources, reported the veteran could be facing a one-game suspension.
08/16/16 - LB Manny Lawson was back on the field with the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday after missing two weeks with a pectoral injury. Lawson passsed his physical and is recovered from the weightlifting injury.
08/04/16 - LB Manny Lawson tore a pectoral muscle while working out on his own prior to camp and it looks like he'll be out the entire preseason, but should be good to go on opening day against Baltimore
07/31/16 - LB Manny Lawson suffered a pectoral injury while working out on his own just before reporting to camp and he will start on the non-football injury list.
07/29/16 - LB Manny Lawson was placed on the active/non-football injury list.
06/19/14 - DL Manny Lawson and Alan Branch made their first appearances of the offseason at the minicamp. Both players skipped all of the OTA workouts and stayed home. Lawson explained his decision this way: "The season is long. When you have some years under your belt, you don't want it to be repetitive. You don't want to seem like you're going through the motions, the same thing over and over again. It was good to step away, spend time with the family, go visit your family. Relax -- still work out in my time off -- but step away from the game and come back to it and it's all new and fun again." Coach Doug Marrone had nothing negative to say because, as he has repeatedly indicated, the OTAs are voluntary and the players don't have to be there. With the switch in defensive schemes, both Lawson and Branch - who joined the Bills last year and played well in then-coordinator Mike Pettine's scheme - have some different duties. Branch played well as a 3-4 end, but now he'll be a 4-3 end, and likely will be a backup behind Jerry Hughes. Lawson was a linebacker last year and was third on the team with 73 tackles, but now he's being asked to play end, too, and will see his playing time cut. "Probably the only thing that's going to change a lot for me now is I'm not going to drop as much," Lawson said. "I will have my hand in the dirt more, but other than that the Sam linebacker and defensive end are relatively the same position except at Sam linebacker you have to drop more in your man-to-man coverage. So I don't have to cover anybody man to man now, so it's see ball, go get ball."
11/04/13 - -- LB Manny Lawson was able to play on his sore hamstring.
10/25/13 - LB Manny Lawson sat out his second day of practice with a hamstring injury which knocked him out of the last two games. There's a good chance he won't be able to dress for the Saints game.
