08/20/14 - TE Colt Lyerla was waived/injured Tuesday. The undrafted rookie has been sidelined since suffering a torn MCL and PCL in his right knee during the team's Family Night practice at Lambeau Field on Aug. 2. Lyerla will be placed on reserve/injured after he clears waivers and he will be able to use the entire season to recover from the injury and get ready for next year.
08/05/14 - TE Colt Lyerla is sidelined indefinitely because of a sprained right knee he sustained in the Family Night practice Saturday. The undrafted rookie suffered the injury when he was upended after trying to hurdle cornerback Jumal Rolle on a pass play. Head coach Mike McCarthy said after the team's Monday night practice that Lyerla would be out "weeks," though the extent of the injury hasn't been disclosed.
06/01/14 - TE Colt Lyerla was signed by the Packers May 19.
03/26/14 - 2014 Pro Days: De'Anthony Thomas clocked at 4.34 at Oregon workout...One player not present for Oregon's workout was former Ducks' tight end Colt Lyerla. Lyerla, who abruptly quit the team October 5 and was later arrested for possession of cocaine, told the media at the Combine that he hoped to repair relationships with his former Oregon coaches. Clearly, that has not occurred to the level that he was allowed to participate in the Ducks' workout Thursday -- an audition that reportedly saw some 30 scouts and coaches representing nearly two-thirds of the league's teams. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
02/20/14 - 2014 NFL Combine: From 40 times to Fritos, 10 Bold Predictions: 3. Most on the line. Former Oregon tight end Colt Lyerla doesn't have to prove he's as smart as Urschel, but his maturity will definitely be tested in Indianapolis. Because of poor choices off the field, no one has more riding on their combine performance than Lyerla. If his conditioning is right, Lyerla will post first-round caliber results in the athletic testing. It will be the drug and psychological testing, as well as the interviews, however, that will determine when -- or if -- team gambles on his immense upside. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
02/19/14 - 2014 NFL Combine: 10 prospects with the most to gain/lose: 10. TE Colt Lyerla, Ex-Oregon...The former Oregon Duck should thank his lucky stars that he even received an invitation, considering all the baggage he brings with him to Indianapolis. And yes, that's in the figurative sense. Lyerla was arrested for unlawful possession of cocaine and interfering with a police officer last October, just a few weeks after he left the team and dropped out of school. He is a fantastic talent with fluid athleticism and natural receiving ability, but trouble seems to follow him with a laundry list of other off-field issues. The interview process at the Combine will be the first step for Lyerla to prove he is worth the risk in the later rounds of the draft, something Da'Rick Rogers couldn't do last year. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
12/17/13 - A judge has denied former Oregon tight end Colt Lyerla's request to train in Las Vegas for next year's NFL draft while he is awaiting trial on a drug charge in Oregon. Lyerla is facing a felony cocaine possession charge stemming from an arrest on Oct. 23. Lane County Circuit Court judge Jay McAlpin on Tuesday denied Lyerla's request to live and train under Dwight Ross of Performance Athletics in Nevada.

Lyerla announced he was leaving Oregon on Oct. 6 after a one-game suspension for violating unspecified team rules. He declined to enter the Drug Court program, which gives offenders a chance to have their charges dismissed if they complete treatment for addiction, and efforts since to settle the case have been unsuccessful. The two sides meet again on Dec. 27. - AP Sports

11/14/13 - Ex-Oregon TE Colt Lyerla opts out of drug treatment program...The legal picture for former Oregon tight end Colt Lyerla wasn't made any clearer by his appearance in court Wednesday. The Oregonian reported that Lyerla and his attorney declined to enter him in a court-approved drug treatment program after his Oct. 23 arrest on charges of cocaine possession and interfering with an officer. Per the Oregonian, Lyerla's attorney asked for a two-week extension, which judge Suzanne Chanti and assistant district attorney Amy Seely rejected, citing the two extensions already granted Lyerla. Lyerla is due back in court Dec. 5.

Completing the Lane County Drug Court treatment program would have resulted in the dismissal of the possession charge, with the interference charge already dropped on the condition that he enter the program. Lyerla left the Ducks team midseason in order to prepare for the NFL Draft and then withdrew from school the first week of October. Lyerla's arrest is believed to be a damaging - but not necessarily fatal - blow to his draft stock. - Jerry Hinnen, CBSSports.com
