10/08/17 - DE Joey Bosa's first sack of the game on Sunday was the first allowed by the Giants' offensive line in 122 pass attempts by QB Eli Manning. Bosa, who came into the game with 2.5 sacks, had 2.0 in the game, both coming against Giants RT Bobby Hart.
09/21/17 - DE Joey Bosa is coming off a game in which he didn't have a sack, and that's noteworthy. Going into the Miami contest, Bosa, the reigning NFL rookie defensive player of the year, had 12 sacks in his first 13 games. That ranks fourth-all time, trailing only Julius Peppers (13), Reggie White (13) and former Charger Leslie O'Neal (12.5).

01/17/17 - DE Joey Bosa was selected as the Defensive Rookie of the Year in a vote by the Professional Football Writers of America on Tuesday. Bosa, the third overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, led all NFL rookies with 10.5 sacks in only 12 games. He posted two sacks in his NFL debut in Week 5 at Oakland on Oct. 9. Bosa's former Ohio State teamate, RB Ezekiel Elliott, was named the Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year.
01/02/17 - DE Joey Bosa was the first rookie to lead the Chargers in sacks since Shawne Merriman in 2004. Bosa finished with 10.5 sacks, despite missing the first month with a hamstring injury. That injury came after Bosa and the team couldn't reach an agreement on a contract until late summer. John Spanos, the director of football operations, said "there was nothing we could have done while protecting the team contractually."

San Diego's defense took a hit when Bosa left. The draftee out of Ohio State was injured as he sacked Panthers QB Cam Newton with 6:29 remaining in the second quarter. It was Bosa's only sack of the game and his sixth sack across a nine-game period.
Bosa, 21, missed the first four games after he was a preseason holdout.
10/20/16 - DE Joey Bosa has shown in two games why the team drafted him third overall. Coach Mike McCoy said the ceiling is high for Bosa, who missed the preseason in a contract snit. "There's some things that he's learning in our system. And we're learning about him, also."
10/14/16 - DE Joey Bosa dislocated a finger on the first series but managed to play 54 sacks, up from 27 in his NFL debut the previous week. Bosa was solid, although his line didn't show much. But he got in two hits and took on two blockers on numerous occasions. Bosa was more concerned about the victory. "It means everything,'' he said. "We really needed it as a team and now we are just going to try and build on it."
