11/29/13 - CB Sam Shields returned to action and made the start in the 40-10 loss at Detroit on Thursday. Shields, who had his second interception of the season defending the Lions' Calvin Johnson in the end zone, had missed the previous two games because of a hamstring injury.

11/21/13 - --CB Sam Shields (hamstring) has yet to practice this week. Head coach Mike McCarthy on Thursday put Shields' chances of playing Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings at "50-50." Shields didn't play in the loss to the New York Giants last weekend after he had been probable for the game. If Shields can't play Sunday, Davon House would likely make another start opposite Tramon Williams.

Shields suffered his leg injury in practice last Thursday and wasn't able to play in the loss at the New York Giants. Head coach Mike McCarthy merely said Wednesday that Shields was going through the rehab phase in his recovery.

Shields suffered his injury in practice Thursday and didn't practice Friday, though he was considered to be probable for the game. Head coach Mike McCarthy said the team put Shields through a pregame workout Sunday. "Sam didn't feel (the injury) was serious, but obviously as time approached the game, it was not where he needed to be," McCarthy said. Davon House made the start at right cornerback with Shields out.
06/04/13 - CB Sam Shields signed his tender with the Green Bay Packers, the team announced Monday.
Shields' tender for 2013 is worth $2,023,000. Shields was a restricted free agent, and if he had not signed the tender by June 17, the team could have reduced the deal to 110 percent of Shields' $540,000 price of last season.
His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, was scheduled to meet with the team on Monday to try to reach an agreement on a long-term deal, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported.
Shields, 25, played in 10 games for the Packers last season, including eight starts. He had three interceptions and one sack.
