10/13/16 - CB Sam Shields still hasn't been cleared to return to the field because of a concussion he sustained in the Sept. 11 season opener. The outlook doesn't appear promising for Shields to play Sunday against the Cowboys, which would be a fourth straight missed game for the veteran starter.

10/09/16 - CB Sam Shields was out for a third consecutive game with a concussion.
10/06/16 - CB Sam Shields remained out Wednesday, not a promising sign for his availability against the Giants on Sunday night. The veteran starter has been sidelined since suffering a concussion in the season-opening victory at the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 11. Without Shields, the Packers would continue to rely on a young trio of Damarious Randall, Quinten Rollins and LaDarius Gunter as their top cornerbacks against a prolific Giants passing attack.
10/06/16 - CB Sam Shields (concussion) is out for at least another week. Shields has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the New York Giants due to the concussion he sustained in the season-opening win versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. The concussion is the second in ninth months and fourth in six years for the 28-year-old Shields, who visited a concussion specialist last month.
10/03/16 - CB Sam Shields still hasn't been cleared to resume football activities because of a concussion that the veteran starter sustained in the season-opening win at the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 11. Head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Shields is improving but wouldn't speculate on how soon Shields could be back as the Packers started preparing for their game Sunday night against the New York Giants.
