Draft Scout Snapshot: A closer look at the Seahawks' picks: Round 3/75 - Russell Wilson, QB, 5-11, 206, Washington...Somewhat of a surprise pick by Seattle, but the team loves his skill set and leadership skills. Don't be surprised if Wilson manages to make some noise at quarterback in 2012. - The Sports Xchange

Russell Wilson TSX Player News Log
07/31/15 - QB Russell Wilson signed a four-year contract extension with the Seahawks Friday (July 31). Seahawks fans had spent the offseason fretting over every seeming twist and turn in the Wilson contract drama, with speculation increasing throughout the summer that he could play the year without a new deal. Wilson had set a deadline of the beginning of camp to reach a deal, with his agent Mark Rodgers confirming that Wilson did not want it hanging over his head. After a week of talks, the two sides finally came to an agreement, with one of the key breakthroughs coming when the two sides agreed on a four-year extension, beginning in 2016. That will allow Wilson to hit free agency when he's 31. The deal will pay Wilson $87.6 million with a $31 million signing bonus -- the most ever awarded by the Seahawks -- and $61.5 million in guarantees overall, the most in the NFL. Wilson said news of the deal, which he received Thursday night around 11, was "exciting." "I've always been confident it was going to happen, I never really doubted it was going to happen," he said. Seattle coach Pete Carroll sang a similar tune. "It was imminent, it was coming the whole time," he said. "We wanted to do it, it was his turn, you know how we've done it, you've watched this. We give guys opportunities and we try to take full advantage of nailing them when we can. It was a long process to get it done but now that it's over, it's good for him, it's good for our club."
12/29/14 - QB Russell Wilson finished with 849 yards rushing, the sixth-most in NFL history for a quarterback, after being held to a season-low seven yards by the Rams.
12/22/14 - QB Russell Wilson completed 20 of 31 passes for 339 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on six carries to help the Seahawks post a franchise-record 596 yards of total offense.
12/17/14 - QB Russell Wilson won his 34th game on Sunday, the most wins for any quarterback in the first three years of his NFL career. He had been tied with Dan Marino and Matt Ryan with 33.
11/28/14 - QB Russell Wilson completed 15 of 22 passes for 236 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions Thursday night in a 19-3 victory against the 49ers. He had a passer rating of 118.8 and also ran seven times for 35 yards. Wilson had a long pass of 63 yards to TE Tony Moeaki and hit RB Robert Turbin on a 13-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.
10/26/14 - QB Russell Wilson is careful with many of his comments, so he came short of acting like he took any special joy in winning at Carolina. He played his first three years of college football for North Carolina State, so it's a bit of a homecoming game given the location in the same state. He has played in Charlotte in each of his three NFL seasons and has won each time.
10/19/14 - QB Russell Wilson became the first player in NFL history to pass for 300 yards and rush for 100 in the same game, a feat which couldn't help the Seahawks win. Wilson compiled 264 of his 419 total yards in the second half as he almost rallied Seattle from a 21-6 halftime deficit.
10/07/14 - QB Russell Wilson has thrown eight touchdowns with just one interception and has a passer rating of 112.9.
10/06/14 - QB Russell Wilson ran 11 times for a career-high 122 yards after carrying just 18 times for 87 yards in the season's first three games. He also completed 18 of 24 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in the win at Washington.
09/14/14 - QB Russell Wilson is known not only for his arm but his legs. However, by finishing with 18 yards on two carries, he had only 1 more rushing yard than slow-footed Chargers QB Philip Rivers. Wilson completed 17 of 25 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns.
