01/20/16 - QB Russell Wilson is entrenched as the starter and became one of the league's best in 2015 after signing a new contract last offseason.
01/17/16 - QB Russell Wilson took responsibility for Seattle's miserable start. He threw two interceptions in the first 16 minutes. "We got behind, and I take the blame for that," Wilson said. "I put us behind the eight-ball a little bit. But we came back in the right way, in the right manner with the right attitude."
He finished 31-for-48 for 366 yards with three touchdown passes and the two interceptions.
12/27/15 - QB Russell Wilson saw his streak of 168 consecutive passes without an interception end Sunday. He was picked off by St. Louis CB Trumaine Johnson, the first pick Wilson has thrown since the Nov. 5 loss to Arizona. Wilson also threw two touchdown passes, putting him one short of the franchise record of 32 in a season (Dave Krieg, 1984).
12/14/15 - QB Russell Wilson passed for 292 yards and five touchdowns against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, with three more touchdowns to Doug Baldwin and two to Tyler Lockett. Over the past four games, he has completed 89 of 118 passes - a whopping 75 percent completion percentage - for 1,171 yards (293 yards per game) with 16 touchdowns and zero interceptions.
That's an aggregate passer rating of 145.9 over those four games.
"It's the best that we've seen for both guys," coach Pete Carroll said of Wilson and Baldwin. "They seem to be in sync in a really great way. The opportunities are there, and they're taking advantage of stuff and making the most of it. It's exciting to see and really fun to see these guys."
According to STATS, Inc., Wilson is the first quarterback since 1960 to post a passer rating of 138.5 or greater in four consecutive starts. He became the first Seahawks quarterback to ever have four straight games with at least three touchdown passes. Only Tom Brady (2007), Peyton Manning (2013-14) and Aaron Rodgers (2014) have also had stretches of four straight games with at least three touchdowns and no interceptions.
11/04/15 - QB Russell Wilson has been sacked a league-high 31 times through eight weeks despite the clean sheet by the offensive line on Sunday. However, it was a positive step forward for a group that has been maligned all season for its struggles. "We protected the quarterback today," coach Pete Carroll said. "We legitimately did it. Russell was able to stand in there and do his thing."
11/01/15 - QB Russell Wilson was responsible for 243 yards of offense, 210 passing and another 33 yards on the ground. He also threw a touchdown pass and led a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter, the 16th of his career and first this season.
09/28/15 - QB Russell Wilson completed 20 of 30 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown. The offensive line struggled to provide protection early. The Bears, who entered the game without a sack through two games, sacked Wilson four times.
09/21/15 - QB Russell Wilson represented almost all of the Seahawks' offense, producing 206 yards through the air and 78 yards on the ground. That is 284 of Seattle's 324 yards. Of the Seahawks' total, 134 came on back-to-back touchdown drives to start the second half. "We kept our tempo up," he said. "We were in and out of the huddle. We mixed some plays in there. We were in attack mode and made a lot of plays, with Luke Willson's one-handed catch to start it off. Some other guys made some plays down the field. And then you had Doug Baldwin score that touchdown, you had also Fred Jackson make the touchdown, which is exciting."
07/31/15 - QB Russell Wilson signed a four-year contract extension with the Seahawks Friday (July 31).
Seahawks fans had spent the offseason fretting over every seeming twist and turn in the Wilson contract drama, with speculation increasing throughout the summer that he could play the year without a new deal.
Wilson had set a deadline of the beginning of camp to reach a deal, with his agent Mark Rodgers confirming that Wilson did not want it hanging over his head.
After a week of talks, the two sides finally came to an agreement, with one of the key breakthroughs coming when the two sides agreed on a four-year extension, beginning in 2016. That will allow Wilson to hit free agency when he's 31.
The deal will pay Wilson $87.6 million with a $31 million signing bonus -- the most ever awarded by the Seahawks -- and $61.5 million in guarantees overall, the most in the NFL.
Wilson said news of the deal, which he received Thursday night around 11, was "exciting."
"I've always been confident it was going to happen, I never really doubted it was going to happen," he said.
Seattle coach Pete Carroll sang a similar tune.
"It was imminent, it was coming the whole time," he said. "We wanted to do it, it was his turn, you know how we've done it, you've watched this. We give guys opportunities and we try to take full advantage of nailing them when we can. It was a long process to get it done but now that it's over, it's good for him, it's good for our club."
12/29/14 - QB Russell Wilson finished with 849 yards rushing, the sixth-most in NFL history for a quarterback, after being held to a season-low seven yards by the Rams.
