*Jon Baldwin TSX Player News Log
12/24/12 - WR Jon Baldwin was the favorite target of QB Brady Quinn in the Chiefs' loss to Indianapolis. Baldwin was targeted six times, making just two catches for 64 yards. One of those plays was the long passing play of the game when Baldwin and Quinn hooked up for a 57-yard gain.
12/17/12 - WR Jon Baldwin continues to struggle to inject himself into the Chiefs' offense. The team's first-round selection in the 2011 NFL Draft didn't catch a pass against Oakland, despite the fact Dwayne Bowe was off the field because of injury. In the 13 games that he's played this season, Baldwin has been shut out four times and caught only one pass in four other games. For the season, he has 18 catches for 261 yards and one touchdown.
12/13/12 - WR Jon Baldwin continues to fall out of the Chiefs' offensive plan, as he was shut out playing against Cleveland. In the last seven games, Baldwin has played six times and has five catches totaling 68 yards. The shutout against the Browns was the second time in three games where he did not catch a pass.
11/28/12 - WR Jon Baldwin continues to struggle to find a place in the Chiefs offense. Over the last five games, Baldwin missed one game due to a concussion, did not catch a pass against Denver last week and in the three other games caught one pass in each for 7, 13 and 11 yards. In the past two months, Baldwin has six catches.
11/26/12 - WR Jon Baldwin, last season's first-round draft pick, continues to be almost invisible in the Chiefs offense. Against Denver he had just one pass thrown in his direction and that one did not connect. WR Jamar Newsome was elevated from the practice squad the day before the game and he had four passes thrown in his direction, catching one for 10 yards. "He hasn't gotten as many opportunities as others," head coach Romeo Crennel said of Baldwin. "Jon has worked very hard during practice to improve and work within the offense. The quarterbacks seem to trust him."
11/25/12 - --WR Jon Baldwin was back on the field and he started for the Chiefs against Denver, but he was then forgotten. He had one pass thrown towards him and that play ended with an incompletion. So far this season, the 2011 first-round draft choice has 16 catches for 224 yards.
11/20/12 - WR Jon Baldwin was feeling better Monday and attended team meetings for the first time since suffering head/neck injuries last Monday night in Pittsburgh. The Chiefs are still not sure whether he'll be cleared to play Sunday against Denver.
11/18/12 - WR Jon Baldwin suffered head and neck injuries in the game against Pittsburgh when he landed at the end of a play on his helmet. Baldwin did not practice all week and was an inactive player against Cincinnati.
11/15/12 - WR Jon Baldwin did not take part in the team's practice on Thursday and it's looking more unlikely that he's going to play on Sunday against Cincinnati. Baldwin suffered head and neck injuries on Monday night in Pittsburgh and is now going through the NFL concussion protocol of testing.
11/14/12 - WR Jon Baldwin sustained either head or neck injuries or both on Monday night against the Steelers and will not be allowed to practice or play until he passes all the tests in the league's concussion protocol. Baldwin sustained the injury when he landed helmet first at Heinz Field at the end of an incompletion.
