Draft Scout Snapshot: A closer look at the Panthers' picks: Round 6/182 -- Kenjon Barner, RB, 5-9, 196, Oregon...With DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert already on the roster, this certainly wasn't a "need" pick. Barner could see action as a returner in 2013, and he could be groomed to be Williams' future successor. - The Sports Xchange

04/28/13 - A closer look at the Panthers' picks: Round 6/182 -- Kenjon Barner, RB, 5-9, 196, Oregon...With DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert already on the roster, this certainly wasn't a "need" pick. Barner could see action as a returner in 2013, and he could be groomed to be Williams' future successor. - The Sports Xchange
03/24/13 - 2013 Oregon Pro Day: Kenyon Barner, RB (5-9 1/4, 193) - Barner ran the 40 in 4.47 and 4.43 seconds, and had a 4.17-second short shuttle. He looked good catching the ball in the position workout. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
03/15/13 - 2013 Oregon Pro Day: While the Ducks' top prospect didn't work out, their most productive player in 2012 -- running back Kenjon Barner -- certainly did, shaving time off of his 40-yard dash and three-cone drill and catching every pass thrown to him during positional drills.

After timing at 4.52-seconds at 5-09, 196 pounds at the Combine, Barner was clocked as fast as 4.38-seconds in the 40-yard dash according to a high-ranking scout present at Thursday's workout. He was similarly impressive in the three-cone, going from 4.20-seconds in the drill in Indianapolis to 4.10 in Eugene, according to the scout. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

01/24/13 - 2013 Senior Bowl, Runningbacks...2. Kenjon Barner, Oregon. Coming into the week he was my favorite rusher in the game. He didn't do anything to lose that spot but did get leapfrogged by Franklin. Their skill sets are the same save for Franklin's better blocking skills thanks to his bigger size and experience. But Barner is explosive and could compete for relevant playing time thanks to his speed and hands. There's a lot of potential in Barner without a ton of downside. His experience playing in Oregon's up-tempo offense will also appeal to coaching staffs looking for a back that has a history of endurance. - Dave Richard, CBSSports.com
01/04/13 - De'Anthony Thomas took the opening kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown and Marcus Mariota accounted for three touchdowns Thursday to lead No. 4 Oregon to a 35-17 victory over No. 5 Kansas State in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium. Mariota threw touchdown passes of 23 yards to halfback Thomas and 24 yards to halfback Kenjon Barner and also scored on a 2-yard run as the Ducks (12-1) reached 12 victories for the third time in four seasons in what could be Oregon coach Chip Kelly's last game.

Kelly reportedly will interview with the Buffalo Bills about their coaching vacancy Friday, and he also has been linked to open NFL jobs in Cleveland and Philadelphia. Oregon is 46-7 in Kelly's four seasons as coach.

Mariota, a redshirt freshman, completed 12 of 24 passes for 166 yards and had 62 yards rushing. Mariota finished the season with a 68.4 completion percentage, just short of Sam Bradford's NCAA freshman record of 69.5 percent set at Oklahoma in 2006. Barner, a senior, rushed for 140 yards on 30 carries in his final game. - The Sports Xchange

01/03/13 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: RB Kenjon Barner became the fifth consensus All-American in Oregon history when he earned first-team honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation, Sporting News, and American Football Coaches Association. He was a second-team selection by the Associated Press and was a finalist for the Doak Walker Award. The senior ranks fifth in the country with 135.3 rushing yards per game.

He has run for 1,624 yards and 21 touchdowns. His 22 total touchdowns are tied for fourth in the nation. Barner has run for at least 100 yards in seven games and had a career-high 321 yards in a win over USC. Kansas State ranks in the top 20 in the nation in rushing defense, so Barner will face a tough test in the Fiesta Bowl. - The Sports Xchange
