03/24/13 - 2013 Alabama Pro Day: Representatives from 32 NFL teams gathered at the pro day held at Alabama on March 13, where 10 players went through a workout held indoors on FieldTurf. Robert Lester, FS (6-1 3/8, 211) - Lester ran the 40 in 4.62 and 4.60 seconds. He had a 34-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-1 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.34 seconds and had a 7.25-second three-cone drill. Lester also went through the position drills. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
12/07/12 - 2012 ALL-SEC SECOND TEAM (COACHES): DB - Robert Lester, Alabama, has been selected Second Team All-Southeastern Conference (Coaches selection) for the 2012 college football season. - Alabama football
12/07/12 - 2012 ALL-SEC HONORABLE MENTION (MEDIA): Robert Lester, S, Alabama, Sr., has been selected Honorable Mention All-Southeastern Conference (Media selection) for the 2012 college football season. - Alabama football
11/26/12 - WEEK 13 SEC OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE: SAF ROBERT LESTER (Alabama) -- Led team with five total tackles (4 solos) with an interception against Auburn. - SEC football
11/13/12 - 11/12/12 NFL DRAFT SCOUT FALLER: SS ROBERT LESTER, ALABAMA...It was a forgettable game for the home team last Saturday in Tuscaloosa as the Crimson Tide defense gave up 29 points against Texas A&M, the first time they allowed four touchdowns in a game since 2010. Alabama had a tough time limiting freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel, but it was a particularly frustrating performance from Tide strong safety Robert Lester. While he has the awareness and quickness to drive on plays in front of him, he missed too many open-field opportunities and left production on the field. Lester took inconsistent angles in both run and pass defense and scouts have questioned his finishing ability as a tackler. He has 13 interceptions over his career, including three this season, but the mistakes have out-weighed the impact plays so far this season. Over the past two years, Lester really benefited playing alongside Mark Barron in the secondary, but he hasn’t been as consistent as a senior and his draft stock is slipping. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
10/29/12 - The Tide defense allowed only 256 total yards, the 21st time in the last 22 games that it's kept the opposition under 300. The only opponent to break that barrier? FCS member Georgia Southern, whose triple-option ground game generated 341 total yards last November. SS Robert Lester notched the 13th interception of his career, good for eighth in school history. Lester owns interceptions in consecutive games, having picked off Tyler Bray in last week's rout of Tennessee, and has the team lead this season with three. - The Sports Xchange
09/14/12 - SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: Hard to quibble with a shutout in which you force four turnovers, as was the case last week. Much will depend on whether Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson is able to play after being knocked out against Louisiana-Monroe. Regardless, Alabama's first task remains the same: Shut down the running game and make the opponent one-dimensional, no matter how good the passing dimension might be. QUOTE TO NOTE: "You need to make sure that they don't fold under the pressure and that they actually go out there and perform the way that they can." -- S Robert Lester, on how the Tide's first true road game. - The Sports Xchange
09/06/12 - Alabama safety Robert Lester met with reporters Wednesday evening and said his injured shoulder is fine. He also revealed how he hurt it. Crimson Tide noseguard Jesse Williams hit him. It happened during Alabama’s 41-14 win over Michigan on Saturday. Williams accidently mistook Lester for an opponent and slammed into him. Lester went to the sideline with a shoulder stinger, and Williams joined him with a mild concussion. Both practiced Wednesday and didn’t appear to be suffering any ill effects. The funny thing is that Lester didn’t realize it was Williams until the team watched the film. “I looked at him weird. I mean, we’ve got the same colors on. Kind of hard to mistake yellow and blue for crimson and white,” Lester said, smiling. - Decatur Daily
09/01/12 - SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: You don't lose guys like Courtney Upshaw, Dont'a Hightower, Mark Barron and Dre Kirkpatrick without some sort of dropoff. But there are good players throughout the depth chart or they wouldn't be at Alabama. Playing Michigan and Arkansas in the first three weeks, however, will be a stern test for a green unit such as this one. But with experienced hands such as Jesse Williams, Nico Johnson and Robert Lester back to lead the way, it's hard to see this defense suddenly looking like a Big 12 unit. - The Sports Xchange
07/21/12 - 2012 PRESEASON ALL-SEC FIRST TEAM (MEDIA): DB Robert Lester (131), Alabama, Sr., has been selected first team All-SEC for the 2012 college football season as selected by the SEC media. - Alabama football
