May 10 2008 - Marcus Thomas, DT Marcus Thomas, who had been arrested for cocaine possession in March, was not charged in Clay County, Fla., where the pending case against Thomas has been dropped. The talented Thomas was dismissed from the Florida Gators' program in 2006 for repeat positive tests for marijuana. The Broncos traded up to draft Thomas in the fourth round in the 2007 draft.
May 10 2008 - Orlando Pace, OT Orlando Pace is hoping to be back on the field for the Rams when training camp opens. Pace is rehabbing from season-ending injuries suffered Week 1 of the 2007 against Carolina. Pace tore his labrum and rotator cuff in his right shoulder.
May 10 2008 - Amon Gordon, DT Amon Gordon and Oneil Cousins sparked a team-wide fracas during the second day of the team's minicamp Saturday. RB Allen Patrick took a handoff up the middle when Cousins, an offensive tackle, and Gordon engaged. Much of the team on the field and from the sideline entered the shoving match.
May 10 2008 - Oniel Cousins, OL Oniel Cousins and DT Amon Gordon sparked a team-wide brawl during which nearly the entire team was involved in a shoving match. The fracas lasted more than 90 seconds before order could be restored.
May 10 2008 - Andre' Woodson, QB Andre Woodson injured his left quad during 11-on-11 drills at a morning workout at his first minicamp with the Giants. Woodson was rolling out to his left and pulled the muscle.
May 10 2008 - Mario Manningham, WR Mario Manningham suffered a left hip flexor injury early in a minicamp workout. Manningham said the injury wasn't serious. "If it was serious," he said, "I wouldn't be walking."
May 9 2008 - Quinn Sypniewski, TE Quinn Sypniewski will miss the 2008 season. Sypniewski suffered a serious knee injury on April 18 in an on-field drill and was carted off the field. Coach John Harbaugh chose not to comment on the injury until Spyniewski, the top backup to Todd Heap, had surgery, which he did before the Ravens opened minicamp Friday. Said Harbaugh: "He had surgery. The ligament tore off the bone, and the piece of the bone that came off the ligament shattered, which made it a situation where it's going to be 6-9 months (to recover)."
May 9 2008 - Matt Schaub, QB Matt Schaub returned to the practice field for the Texans, who weren't certain Schaub would be ready to practice at full speed after missing five games with various injuries in his first season in Houston.
May 9 2008 - Terrell Suggs, DE Terrell Suggs was a no-show at Ravens minicamp. Suggs, the team's franchise player, is seeking a long-term contract.
May 9 2008 - Joe Flacco, QB Joe Flacco had a strong showing in his first practice with the Ravens. Flacco threw the ball with accuracy and confidence in a downpour at the first session of a three-day minicamp. Flacco is in competition with Troy Smith and Kyle Boller to replace Steve McNair as the No. 1 quarterback in Baltimore.
