He originally joined the team as a sixth-round draft selection (183rd overall) in 2009 from USC. Harris appeared in 52 games making 34 starts for Southern California. The 5'11, 187-pound defensive back totaled 143 tackles including 7.5 stops for a loss in his collegiate career.

"We're going to make sure we take care of all the details. We're for Clinton getting well," coach Jim Zorn said. "Each day Clinton's done a great job of communicating how he's felt, and that's what it's going to take. I want to be involved with those conversations, not so much to see ‘how fast can we get him back,' but just to make sure the young man is improving and getting better."

"If he's not capable of playing at that level, or doing some of the things that we need him to be able to do, then you go with the guy who practiced."
