Nov 18 2009 - Melvin Fowler
C Melvin Fowler, an eighth-year veteran who didn't get signed this offseason, was signed by Detroit.

Nov 18 2009 - Matthew Stafford
QB Matthew Stafford, the Lions are starting to acknowledge, is playing through a right knee injury. "Being a quarterback in the NFL is a tough business, and you're going to get hit and you're going to have guys that are gunning for you and trying to knock you out of the game," coach Jim Schwartz said. "So we didn't know how he would deal with an injury and how he would play through it. So he's proved that through the last couple weeks." Stafford often doesn't put any weight on the knee when he gets up off the turf after a hit. But he remains elusive, and he hasn't been squeamish about fighting for yardage."

Nov 18 2009 - Derrick Williams
WR Derrick Williams did not practice Wednesday because of a hip injury.

Nov 18 2009 - Dewayne White
DE Dewayne White did not practice Wednesday because of a toe injury. He played with it Sunday at Minnesota, though.

Nov 18 2009 - Ernie Sims
LB Ernie Sims did not practice Wednesday because of a hamstring injury. He is unlikely to play.

Nov 18 2009 - DeAndre Smith
DB DeAndre Smith was signed off Chicago's practice squad by Detroit to replace injured S Marquand Manuel on the roster. He can play corner and safety. He also has spent time this season with the Browns, whom the Lions play Sunday.

Nov 18 2009 - Kalvin Pearson
S Kalvin Pearson did not practice Wednesday because of a hamstring injury. He plans to test it Friday but seems doubtful for Sunday.

Nov 18 2009 - Marquand Manuel
S Marquand Manuel was put on injured reserve with a shoulder problem suffered Sunday at Minnesota.

Nov 17 2009 - Louis Delmas
S Louis Delmas should return soon after sitting out Sunday with an infected tooth.

Nov 17 2009 - Bryant Johnson
WR Bryant Johnson dropped a would-be touchdown pass late in the second quarter Sunday, and the Lions had to settle for a field goal. The ball slipped through Johnson's arms and hit his right shoulder as he dove in the left side of the end zone. He caught two passes for 17 yards.

Nov 17 2009 - Calvin Johnson
WR Calvin Johnson dropped one pass Sunday. He caught eight passes for 84 yards. Three catches for 48 yards came on a two-minute drill at the end of the first half that resulted in a field goal. Johnson still isn't as big a factor as the Lions would like.

Nov 17 2009 - Brandon Pettigrew
TE Brandon Pettigrew dropped two more passes Sunday. He caught only two of the six targeted for him, finishing with 23 receiving yards. He continues to work on his consistency.

Nov 17 2009 - Kevin Smith
RB Kevin Smith fumbled on the first offensive snap of the second half Sunday, and the Vikings cashed in with a quick touchdown to take a 17-3 lead. Smith also fumbled in the third quarter of the Lions' last game against the Vikings, Sept. 20, also a 27-10 loss. He had 55 yards on 12 carries this time.

Nov 17 2009 - Matthew Stafford
QB Matthew Stafford avoided interceptions Sunday at Minnesota after throwing five the previous week at Seattle, even though he was often under pressure. He took three sacks and was hit 13 times. He went 29-for-51 for 224 yards and a touchdown. His receivers dropped at least four passes, and his accuracy waned as the game wore on.

Nov 16 2009 - Kevin Smith
RB Kevin Smith fumbled on the first offensive snap of the second half, and the Vikings quickly cashed in with a touchdown and took a 17-3 lead. Smith gained 55 yards on 12 carries. Stafford was the second-leading rusher with 28 yards on four scrambles.

Nov 16 2009 - Bryant Johnson
WR Bryant Johnson dropped what would have been a touchdown pass right before halftime Sunday. The Lions settled for a field goal, and they needed every point they could get in what turned out to be a 27-10 loss. But there is only so much coach Jim Schwartz can do, even though he has benched several players this season for poor performances. "If we benched every guy for a drop, we might not have anybody left because everybody, including Calvin Johnson, has dropped balls this year," Schwartz said. "That's a play that we need to finish. There's definitely accountability there, but Bryant has been extremely sound assignment-wise, in blocking, all the other things."

Nov 16 2009 - Kalvin Pearson
S Kalvin Pearson suffered a hamstring injury Sunday. The Lions were waiting for test results Monday.

Nov 16 2009 - Derrick Williams
WR Derrick Williams suffered a hip injury Sunday. The Lions were waiting for test results Monday.

Nov 16 2009 - Marquand Manuel
S Marquand Manuel suffered a shoulder injury Sunday. The Lions were waiting for test results Monday.

Nov 16 2009 - Stephen Peterman
RG Stephen Peterman might miss significant time with an ankle injury he suffered Sunday. The Lions were waiting on test results Monday, but they were preparing to replace him, possibly with someone outside the current roster.

Nov 16 2009 - Jack Williams
CB Jack Williams will miss the rest of the season after suffering a significant knee injury Sunday at Minnesota. He got hurt on his first defensive snap for the Lions, who claimed him off waivers from Denver last week. Williams lasted only one defensive snap for the Lions after they claimed him off waivers from Denver last week. When the second half began Sunday, cornerback Phillip Buchanon took extra time to deal with a knee problem because the Lions had the ball. But running back Kevin Smith fumbled on the first offensive play, so Williams, who had played only on special teams in the first half, had to make his debut on defense. The Vikings' Adrian Peterson promptly rumbled for a 27-yard gain, leaving Williams in his wake with a bad knee injury. "It's going to end his season, and we'll make a roster move pretty quick on that one," coach Jim Schwartz said.

Nov 15 2009 - Kalvin Pearson
S Kalvin Pearson hobbled off in the fourth quarter Sunday with a left thigh injury.

Nov 15 2009 - Derrick Williams
WR Derrick Williams suffered a hip injury returning a kickoff Sunday.

Nov 15 2009 - Marquand Manuel
S Marquand Manuel suffered a shoulder injury and left the game Sunday on the same play CB Jack Williams (knee) did – a 27-yard run to the Detroit 1 by bruising running back Adrian Peterson.

Nov 15 2009 - Jack Williams
CB Jack Williams, whom the Lions claimed on waivers last week, suffered a left knee injury and was on crutches in the locker room. He was in the game only because cornerback Phillip Buchanon was out briefly with a knee problem.

Nov 15 2009 - Stephen Peterman
RG Stephen Peterman left Sunday's game at Minnesota late in the third quarter with a right ankle injury.

Nov 12 2009 - Calvin Johnson
WR Calvin Johnson practiced fully Wednesday and Thursday but was listed on the injury report with a knee problem. He returned from a two-game absence Sunday but caught only two passes for 27 yards.

Nov 12 2009 - Matthew Stafford
QB Matthew Stafford was listed as limited Wednesday and Thursday because of a knee injury. The knee is still bothering him, but he has played with it for two straight games and there is no reason to think he won't play with it again.

Nov 12 2009 - Grady Jackson
DT Grady Jackson was listed as limited Wednesday and did not practice Thursday because of a knee injury. He did not play Sunday at Seattle, but not because of his knee. He likely will be available Sunday.

DE Jason Hunter practiced fully Thursday after being listed as limited Wednesday because of a knee injury. He returned Sunday at Seattle after missing two games with an ankle injury but aggravated the ankle and knee.

Nov 12 2009 - Jerome Felton
