"I'm assuming that it's a (MRI)," Turner said of the test. "They are going to let me know more (Monday). We'll have plenty of time to talk about that." Nov 11 2009 - Stephen Nicholas
OLB Stephen Nicholas, a third-year player South Florida, patiently waited his turn. He and defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux, who's coming into his own as a starter, are playing well on a Falcons defense that is still finding itself. Nicholas spent his first two seasons with the Falcons on special teams. But over the offseason, not too many people in the facilities in Flowery Branch were overly concerned when strongside linebacker Michael Boley signed with the New York Giants. Nicholas would get his chance and through the first half of the season, he hasn't disappointed. He's helped to solidify the linebacker unit on a defense that is in transition. He has 42 tackles, two sacks, one pass defensed and one fumble recovery. "It's going all right," Nicholas said. "I just want to stay consistent." Nicholas didn't have any career starts before the season-opener against Miami "Just understanding the game a little more," Nicholas said of his biggest challenge. At one point he completed 13 straight passes. He finished with 21 completions in 27 attempts for 220 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. "He's playing fast and that's a good thing," defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder said. "The more he sees plays, the more confident he's going to be. There is a lot of work (to be done) there, but he's done a good job up until this point."

CB Tye Hill has started the last two games for the Falcons. He returned an interception 62 yards for a touchdown against Washington. "He played pretty good football," Falcons defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder said.
