 Latest Eagles Player Notes
Sep 1 2010 - Daniel Te'o-Nesheim
DE Daniel Te'o-Nesheim, a third-round pick, is expected to see a lot of action in the Eagles' nickel package as an inside pass-rusher.

Sep 1 2010 - Mike Bell
RB Mike Bell, who sat out the first two preseason games with hamstring and calf injuries, played in the third preseason game against the Chiefs. He had just 17 yards on eight carries, but is expected to open the season as the team's No. 2 RB behind starter LeSean McCoy.

Sep 1 2010 - Nick Cole
C/G Nick Cole, who had been sidelined for the better part of three weeks with a sore knee, returned to practice this week. He started the last two games last year at center after Jamaal Jackson got hurt, but is now taking all of his snaps at guard.

Sep 1 2010 - Macho Harris
DB Macho Harris started eight games at free safety last year as a rookie. A year later, the '09 fifth-round pick finds himself in jeopardy of not making the team. Harris was a cornerback at Virginia Tech but was moved to safety as a rookie. He was shifted back to cornerback in the offseason. After spending much of camp and the preseason on the sideline with injuries, he was moved back to safety last week. But it looks like he'll have to beat out Quentin Demps and rookie Kurt Coleman to make the team.

Sep 1 2010 - Michael Vick
QB Mike Vick will play the first half of the Eagles' final preseason game Thursday night against the Jets. Mike Kafka will take the snaps in the second half as starter Kevin Kolb sits out. It looks like the Eagles plan to use Vick in many third-and-short situations this season, as well as in the red zone. "I have a pretty good idea of what he can do and where he's at," offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said. "But this will be good to get him in and continue working his rhythm and balance and all of those things in the regular offense."

Sep 1 2010 - Kevin Kolb
QB Kevin Kolb will not play in the Eagles' final preseason game Thursday night against the Jets. Mike Vick will play the first half at quarterback and Mike Kafka will take the snaps in the second half.

Aug 31 2010 - Pannel Egboh
DE Pannel Egboh was claimed off waivers from the Houston Texans and will join the Eagles in time for Thursday's preseason finale. The Eagles needed another body at end after Ricky Sapp (knee) went on injured reserve.

Aug 31 2010 - Ricky Sapp
DE Ricky Sapp (knee) was placed on injured reserve.

Aug 31 2010 - Jamaal Jackson
C Jamaal Jackson pushed himself in practice Monday and was said to be feeling fine Tuesday, which is a good sign he'll be ready for the regular-season opener. Jackson is recovering from offseason ACL surgery. "Yesterday, [his knee] felt good," coach Andy Reid said. "Today's an important day. It didn't swell. It's not sore, so he's feeling pretty good. He's sore, from his body from being hit so much yesterday, but the actual knee is well, and he feels strong so it's a positive thing."

Aug 31 2010 - Ricky Sapp
DE Ricky Sapp didn't practice Tuesday. He had an MRI on his injured knee to confirm whether he will need surgery. Coach Andy Reid said the injury was "tweaked the other day. He stepped into a hole and twisted it."

Aug 31 2010 - DeSean Jackson
WR DeSean Jackson wasn't at practice Tuesday because he had his wisdom teeth removed.

Aug 29 2010 - DeSean Jackson
WR DeSean Jackson suffered a neck strain on the Eagles' first offensive play of the game Friday night. He left the game and didn't return, though the team insists it was precautionary and that he'll be fine for the season opener.

Aug 29 2010 - Stacy Andrews
OG Stacy Andrews has not played particularly well in the preseason after contributing little last season. He still is listed as the starting right guard, but split practice reps with Max Jean-Gilles last week.

Aug 29 2010 - Mike Bell
RB Mike Bell saw his first action of the preseason Friday night after being sidelined much of camp with hamstring and calf injuries. He rushed for just 17 yards on eight carries and missed at least one blocking assignment that led to a Kevin Kolb blitz. But he still appears ticketed to be LeSean McCoy's primary backup.

Aug 29 2010 - Michael Vick
QB Mike Vick could be used a lot this season as a replacement for Kevin Kolb in third-and-short situations. He entered the game twice Friday on third and short and converted both into first downs with runs.

Aug 29 2010 - Trent Cole
DE Trent Cole injured his right ankle in Friday's preseason game against Kansas City, but it appears to be a mild sprain that won't prevent him from playing against Green Bay in the September 12 season-opener.

Aug 29 2010 - Moise Fokou
LB Moise Fokou is in jeopardy of not making the team. Fokou opened camp as the starting strong-side linebacker, but was replaced by Akeem Jordan. The Eagles have been giving him some work at defensive end.

Aug 29 2010 - Brandon Graham
DE Brandon Graham moved ahead of veteran Juqua Parker and is the team's new starter at left end. Graham started Friday's night's preseason game against Kansas City and will be the season-opening starter against Green Bay.

Aug 29 2010 - Pannel Egboh
DE Pannel Egboh was waived by Houston.

Aug 26 2010 - Cornelius Ingram
TE Cornelius Ingram will not play against Kansas City on Friday after having a "significant Baker's cyst" drained from the back of his left knee and calf at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.

Aug 25 2010 - Mike Bell
RB Mike Bell will play in the third preseason game, coach Andy Reid said. Bell missed the first two games with a hamstring injury.

Aug 25 2010 - Brandon Graham
DE Brandon Graham will start the third preseason game. "He was playing well. We just thought it was time to do that," coach Andy Reid said. "I will tell you this, (Juqua Parker), I think has had an outstanding camp too. So, this is a good situation and we're going to use (Parker) in a lot of plays out there."

Aug 25 2010 - Cornelius Ingram
TE Cornelius Ingram did not practice due to swelling in his calf. "The fluid from the knee has drained down to the calf," coach Andy Reid said. "And normally with those you just work it and it works its way out. It's bothering him, so we're going to get it checked out."

Aug 25 2010 - Jamaal Jackson
C Jamaal Jackson (January ACL surgery) has started practicing on a limited basis, but it's still unclear whether he'll be ready for the season-opener. "It was taking a little bit of time, you know, just adjusting to the speed and the tempo," Jackson said of practicing with the starters Wednesday. "After that, like you said, it's like riding a bike. Hopefully I can get out there and not have any major rust and just try to play football."

Aug 25 2010 - Jamaal Jackson
C Jamaal Jackson (January ACL surgery) has started practicing on a limited basis, but it's still unclear whether he'll be ready for the season-opener.

Aug 25 2010 - Kurt Coleman
S Kurt Coleman (seventh round) has impressed the Eagles with his smarts and hitting ability. He is pushing Quentin Demps for the backup safety job.

Aug 25 2010 - Trevard Lindley
CB Trevard Lindley (fourth round) hasn't done much to distinguish himself in the Eagles' first two preseason games. He's the team's fifth corner right now.

Aug 25 2010 - Nick Cole
OLs Nick Cole vs. Mike McGlynn for the possible season-opening starting C job if Jamaal Jackson isn't ready. It's become no contest because of Cole's sore knee, which has sidelined him for the better part of the last two weeks.

Aug 25 2010 - Dimitri Patterson
CBs Dimitri Patterson and Joselio Hanson are competing for the nickel cornerback job. Hanson has been one of the league's better nickel corners. But he was inconsistent last season and has given up two long balls in the first two preseason games. Patterson, meanwhile, is having a terrific preseason. He had one interception Friday against the Bengals, and forced another with a big hit on Terrell Owens.

Aug 25 2010 - Joselio Hanson
CB Joselio Hanson got burned by a deep pass for the second straight game Friday night when the Bengals' Terrell Owens caught a 49-yard pass against him. Hanson, ordinarily the team's nickel corner, was playing on the outside for injured left cornerback Asante Samuel.

Aug 25 2010 - Austin Howard
OT Austin Howard, an undrafted rookie out of Northern Iowa, appears to have locked up a roster spot. He likely will be the team's third tackle heading into the season.

Aug 25 2010 - Jason Peters
LT Jason Peters was flagged not once, but twice Friday for failing to line up on the line of scrimmage. One of the penalties negated a touchdown pass to Jason Avant.

Aug 25 2010 - Jeremy Maclin
WR Jeremy Maclin suffered a shoulder contusion in Friday's preseason loss to the Bengals. But the injury doesn't appear to be serious.

Aug 25 2010 - Clay Harbor
TE Clay Harbor has had an impressive camp and has moved ahead of Cornelius Ingram on the depth chart, right behind starter Brent Celek. But offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg isn't ready to hand him the backup job quite yet, and suggested the Eagles might pick up a veteran tight end off the waiver wire after final cuts. "Well, I just don't feel comfortable going there (with Harbor as the No. 2 tight end) quite yet," Mornhinweg said. "He has a long way to go. He's had a terrific camp to date. He's a tough, physical guy who will hit you. So he's got a chance to progress, and he's progressed very quickly. But there's a long way to go to be in a regular-season game and be effective. So there's his challenge. But he's got a great opportunity right in front of him."

Aug 25 2010 - Brandon Graham
DE Brandon Graham saw some action inside as a nickel defensive tackle Friday night against the Bengals. "We talked about it a long time ago, and we finally just did it last week," Graham said. "I like that it's always one-on-one, especially if I'm at a three-technique. I don't really have a problem with it. It's going to get me closer to the quarterback, being inside."

Aug 25 2010 - Brodrick Bunkley
DTs Broderick Bunkley and Mike Patterson are used almost primarily as first- and second-down defensive tackles for the Eagles. Both are replaced in the team's nickel package, which explains why they combined for just 2.5 sacks last year. But coach Andy Reid has been happy with the job they've done inside stuffing the run. "They're steady," he said. "There's nothing glamorous about playing that position, and they understand that. They just show up for work every day, every game, every practice, and they play their hearts out. They're kind of big hard-heads in there."

Aug 25 2010 - Michael Vick
QB Mike Vick is Kevin Kolb's backup, with only rookie Mike Kafka behind them, but that won't stop the Eagles from potentially using Vick in the Wildcat formation. "I'm not worried about that," head coach Andy Reid said. "I have no problem putting him in there in the Wildcat." Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg echoed those sentiments last week and said Vick likely will be used much more than last year now that he is in shape. "I would expect Mike to be a little bit bigger factor with our football team this year," he said. "Last year, he came in, he hadn't played in a couple of years. We got him before practice, after practice, trying to get his athleticism back up. "I thought he was close to being back, close to 100 percent, and then he got that quad (injury) about two-thirds, three-quarters of the way through the year, and that hampered him a little bit. So, as long as he's healthy, I would think he'd be a little bit bigger factor (than he was last year)." In the Eagles' first two preseason games, they've used Vick occasionally as a change-of-pace to Kolb with the first team, inserting him for a play here and there to run the regular offense rather than as a Wildcat weapon. "It's a matter of what I can do and how I can help this football team," Vick said. "It's up to them. It may not even be (in) the Wildcat. (Or) it could be in just a pro style offense or the West Coast system. It's not necessarily a Wildcat deal. You're going to mix it in, maybe, maybe not."

Aug 20 2010 - Jeremy Maclin
WR Jeremy Maclin was diagnosed with a shoulder contusion. He left the game in the second quarter and did not return.

Aug 20 2010 - Michael Vick
QB Michael Vick has cancelled his planned reality show, "The Michael Vick Project" after one season. He turned down BET, which aired the show last year and offered to do a second season. Vick said he wants to focus on football.

Aug 18 2010 - Asante Samuel
CB Asante Samuel is questionable against the Bengals with a hamstring injury.

Aug 18 2010 - Todd Herremans
LG Todd Herremans was activated from the team's PUP list Sunday and practiced for the first time since tweaking his surgically-repaired foot in spring OTAs. He remains limited in practice and won't play this week against Cincinnati.

Aug 18 2010 - Austin Howard
OT Austin Howard, an undrafted rookie, has impressed coach Andy Reid. "Austin has done a nice job. Some of our undrafted guys have done a nice job for us, Austin being one of them. I'm not going to go through the list, but I've been happy with the college free agents that have come in here and how they've approached this thing," Reid said. "I think he was banged up a little bit last year and he didn't perform the way he wanted to perform. I think that probably hurt him in the draft. He's healthy now, and I think as a group the rookies rallied around each other and pushed themselves through this tough camp. A lot of times you'll see the rookies get about half way through and they're starting to miss practice. These guys, they pushed through, and Austin, I think is one of the leaders of that group."

Aug 18 2010 - Jamaal Jackson
C Jamaal Jackson is off the PUP list but won't play in Friday's preseason game. "Jamaal's making progress. We're just going to take it (slow)," coach Andy Reid said. "He's not going to play next week, and then we'll just see how he goes here. But, we're taking it nice and slow with him. [Head Athletic Trainer] Rick [Burkholder] has the swelling out of there and Jamaal has been very diligent with rehab after practice. His knee feels good right now, so that's the way we want to keep it."

Aug 18 2010 - Mike Bell
RB Mike Bell practiced Wednesday and is questionable for Friday's game. Bell, who had missed nearly two weeks of camp with a hamstring injury, returned to practice Sunday morning, then shortly after, suffered a calf strain and was carted off.

Aug 16 2010 - Anthony Scirrotto
S Anthony Scirrotto signed with the Eagles. Scirrotto was an undrafted free agent with the Patriots in 2009 and also spent time with the Giants on their practice squad.

Aug 16 2010 - Antoine Harris
S Antoine Harris was placed on injured reserve with a Lisfranc foot sprain.

Aug 16 2010 - Eric Moncur
DE Eric Moncur, an undrafted free agent who was released Aug. 2, re-signed with the Eagles. Moncur (6-1, 237) registered 110 tackles and 11sacks in his career at Miami, posting a career-high and ranking second on the team with six sacks in 2007. He attended Carol City High School in Miami, where he racked up 34 sacks in his final two seasons and earned SuperPrep All-America honors.

Aug 16 2010 - Jamaal Jackson
C Jamaal Jackson, who was activated from the PUP list Sunday, is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn ACL suffered in December, coach Andy Reid said. The Eagles are hopeful he will be available to start the regular-season opener. Jackson started 76 straight games before the injury and is back on the field eight months after an injury the team expected to keep him off the field for at least nine months.

Aug 15 2010 - Kurt Coleman
S Kurt Coleman (7th) looked like a guy headed for the practice squad. But a knee injury Friday night to backup Quintin Demps could help Coleman's chances of making the 53-man roster.

Aug 15 2010 - Riley Cooper
WR Riley Cooper (5th) has pretty much sewed up the No. 4 wide receiver spot behind starters DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin and slot receiver Jason Avant.
