This time, it's the PCL. He hurt the MCL in the opener and missed the next four games. A relieved coach Mike Tomlin said Polamalu is "questionable" for Sunday's game in Kansas City, although it is believed he will not play in the game. He could return the following Sunday night in Baltimore."It happens to be to the same knee, but there is no setback in regards to his MCL," Tomlin reported. "This is a PCL strain. We'll let that run its course, see how he feels, and of course listen to the expert advice of our medical staff. Everyone's initial response was it was a re-injury and that appears not to be the case. It's on the same knee, but it's not a re-injury."
Polamalu seemed to return to his old self by the time the Steelers played at Denver Nov. 9, his third game back. He intercepted his third pass of the season in that game. The injury to his PCL came when he tackled Cincinnati's Cedric Benson for a three-yard loss in the first series. Tyrone Carter will replace Polamalu at strong safety.
